Is the 2025 RAM 3500 a good car?

The 2025 RAM 3500 stands out as a heavy-duty truck that has moved well beyond its original workhorse roots. In its fifth generation, Ram focused heavily on luxury and technology, while also giving the truck a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models.

For you, that means the truck is aimed at buyers who want serious capability without giving up daily-driver comfort. It can tow more than 35,000 pounds and carry nearly 8,000 pounds of payload, while the cabin borrows heavily from the Ram 1500 and offers available amenities that make it feel more upscale than a bare-bones hauler.

The market also shows 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 RAM 3500 reliable?

The 2025 RAM 3500 stands out as a heavy-duty truck that has moved well beyond its original workhorse roots. In its fifth generation, Ram focused heavily on luxury and technology, while also giving the truck a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models.

For reliability-minded shoppers, that points to a truck built around serious-duty hardware and a more modern cabin experience. You should still expect long-term ownership risk to be tied to the complexity of a large, highly equipped heavy-duty truck, especially if the truck has been used for demanding towing or hauling.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify how the truck was used, especially if it spent time towing heavy loads or working commercially. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, and any signs of wear that could reflect hard use. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a heavy-duty truck can look clean while still carrying a lot of hidden workload.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,810 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,486, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $69,486 sits slightly below last year's $75,527.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how hard the truck has been used. Well-kept examples with cleaner histories should hold up better than trucks that have spent their lives towing at the limit.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, clean inventory, and modern heavy-duty capability. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2025 is the one to target when you want a newer truck with a broad set of listings and a softer market than last year.
