Is the 2025 Porsche Taycan a good car?

The 2025 Porsche Taycan stands out because it blends Porsche’s performance-first character with the practicality of an electric luxury car. Buyers drawn to the badge and to sporty road manners will likely find that appeal more important than maximizing range.

For 2025, the Taycan received a mid-cycle refresh that brought an updated rear motor, larger battery packs, a new heat pump, increased DC fast-charging speeds, standard adaptive air suspension across all models, revised front and rear lighting signatures, and an updated user interface. For buyers who care more about distance than outright speed, the base Taycan with the Performance Battery Plus now got up to 318 miles of range.

Still, for buyers who want an electric car with genuine Porsche character, the 2025 Taycan remains a compelling and unusually performance-focused choice. 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Porsche Taycan reliable?

The 2025 Porsche Taycan stands out because it blends Porsche’s performance-first character with an all-electric powertrain. The source describes range as merely average, and it notes that the car is more expensive than rivals.

It also points out a lack of buttons and dials, which may matter to shoppers who prefer a more traditional cabin layout. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained and checked carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Porsche Taycan?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s records match the listing details. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and any signs of wear that could affect an EV’s long-term ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Porsche Taycan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 337 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $112,155, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Porsche Taycan's resale value?

The current average of $114,949 sits slightly below last year's $124,489.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you more negotiating room today than a year ago. If you buy well now and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned than a buyer who paid closer to last year’s average. For a future seller, the key will be how well the car holds up against the Taycan’s premium positioning and the market’s ongoing sensitivity to price.

Should I buy a 2025 Porsche Taycan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.66% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the refreshed Taycan experience and you value Porsche character over maximizing range or minimizing cost. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make more sense, especially if you can find a cleaner example with the equipment and condition you want.
