Used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander for Sale nearGurnee, IL

How much does the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander cost?

Prices have softened 13.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,210 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a 6.7/10 expert rating, and its strongest appeal is that it gets a refresh for 2025 with new tech, a new sound system, and suspension tuning that improves comfort.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

That lines up with the Outlander’s role as a comfort-focused crossover: you get a quiet cabin, an impressive stereo, and a more settled ride, but you also have to live with a polarizing design, a cramped third row, and sluggish performance. The lower trims are the ones most likely to make sense if you want the refresh without stretching for expensive extras.

About 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander is positioned as a mainstream family crossover with standard warranty coverage that helps reduce early ownership worry, and the 2025 refresh adds comfort-focused suspension tuning without changing the basic mechanical formula.

Its 2.5-liter four-cylinder and CVT setup are described as adequate but not especially quick, and the powertrain is left unchanged for 2025. The expert assessment also points to a quiet cabin and improved ride comfort, which are the kinds of traits that usually matter when you plan to keep a vehicle for a while.

You also get 2 years or 30,000 miles of free limited maintenance, which is a useful ownership perk for the first stretch of service visits.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Outlander’s slower performance and crowded-segment value equation may make it less satisfying if you expect strong resale appeal or a more polished driving experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the suspension, cabin condition, and how the drivetrain feels in everyday driving. Since the Outlander’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and equipment, make sure the features you care about are actually present and working as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Outlander is available in ES, SE and SEL trims with FWD or AWD. The base trim gets the core equipment, but the SE is the point where more advanced driver-assistance features arrive, and the SEL is where the cabin upgrades become more noticeable.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and a CVT. The refresh improves suspension tuning for more comfort and less body roll, but the engine still feels sluggish when you ask for quick acceleration.
• Safety package: The base level includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert and rear emergency braking. You have to move up to the SE to get adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention and traffic sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Every Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Upper trims add a large digital gauge cluster, and the top SEL can be equipped with a rear camera mirror and head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the Outlander a fuel rating of 26 miles per gallon combined.

Which 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in 3 trim levels: ES, SE and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the refreshed Outlander at the lowest cost while still getting the standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the basic safety suite. It is the value play if you care more about comfort and tech than luxury extras.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention and traffic sign recognition. If you want the most useful safety upgrades without jumping to the priciest version, this is the one to target.
• SEL: This is the trim to choose if you want the nicer cabin and the most upscale equipment. It brings quilted leather seats, more soft-touch surfaces, and available upgrades like the premium audio, digital dash display, panoramic sunroof, rear camera mirror and head-up display.

The safety-package step-up happens at the SE, so if driver assistance matters to you, start there.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,210 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,481, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $25,495 sits slightly below last year's $29,600.

That drop suggests the Outlander has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you are buying now. For a future seller, though, it means you should expect depreciation pressure to remain a factor unless you buy at a strong price.

The year-over-year decline also tells you that the market is rewarding shoppers more than sellers right now. If you plan to resell later, buying near the low end of the range matters more than usual.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a four-star rating in rollover from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Mitsubishi does not offer a full suite of advanced driver assistance features as standard, but the base model does include blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert and rear emergency braking. You need to move up to the SE to get adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention and traffic sign recognition.

The IIHS gives the Outlander a Good rating for its headlights, but it has not been rated for other current tests. One caveat to keep in mind is that the lane-centering behavior can struggle to keep the vehicle perfectly centered on sweeping highway turns.

Should I buy a 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.87% compared with last year.
• The refresh gives you new tech, a better sound system, and improved suspension tuning without changing the basic formula.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed cabin, improved ride comfort, and the strongest mix of current-market pricing and inventory, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but you should expect to give up some of the 2025 updates.
