How much does the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander cost?

Prices have softened 14.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,216 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander earns an expert rating of 6.67/10.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

For 2025, Mitsubishi gives the Outlander a refresh with new tech, a better sound system, and suspension tuning that improves comfort and reduces body roll. That lines up with the model’s strengths if you want a quiet cabin and a crossover that feels more comfortable than sporty. The trade-offs are clear: the design can be polarizing, the third row is cramped, and performance remains sluggish.

The market shows 39.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander’s appeal leans more on comfort, a quiet cabin, and a refreshed feature set than on any standout mechanical complexity. Mitsubishi’s updates for 2025 focus on suspension tuning, new tech, and a stronger audio system, while the powertrain carries over unchanged.

The engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, and the transmission is described as droney and rubber-band-like under hard acceleration. That doesn’t point to a particularly engaging driving experience, but it does suggest a familiar, straightforward setup rather than a highly complicated one. Mitsubishi also includes 2 years or 30,000 miles of limited maintenance for free, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Outlander’s value proposition depends heavily on condition and trim, so a neglected example could feel less rewarding than the numbers suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the suspension, cabin condition, and how the drivetrain feels in everyday driving. Since the Outlander’s appeal depends a lot on comfort and equipment, make sure the specific vehicle you’re considering matches the condition and features you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the essentials, but the top SEL stands out with quilted leather seats, soft-touch surfaces, and a more upscale cabin feel. The base trim also misses some of the nicer convenience and tech upgrades that make the higher trims more appealing.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The Outlander also uses a CVT, and the setup is described as sluggish when pulling away from stops or merging onto the highway.
• Safety package: The base trim includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear emergency braking. You need to move up to the SE for adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Every Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a physical volume knob, a button for the camera system, USB-C ports, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The Outlander is rated at 26 miles per gallon combined.

Which 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in 3 trim levels: ES, SE and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Outlander experience with the standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the basic safety equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the nicer comfort and driver-assistance upgrades.
• SE: This is the best-value trim because it adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition. If you want the most useful safety upgrades without jumping all the way to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• SEL: This is the trim to choose if you care most about comfort and cabin polish. It brings quilted leather seats, soft-touch surfaces, and the premium-feeling interior details that make the Outlander feel more upscale.

The safety package is not fully standard across the lineup, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, the SE is the trim to prioritize.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,216 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,475, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander’s resale value?

The current average of $25,480 sits slightly below last year's $29,644.

That drop suggests the Outlander has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means you should expect depreciation pressure to remain part of the ownership story, especially if you buy a higher trim with more equipment than the market is willing to fully reward.

If you plan to resell later, condition and mileage will matter a lot. A clean, well-kept example should hold up better than one with visible wear, but the broader trend still points to a model that loses value faster than some rivals.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a four-star rating in rollover from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Mitsubishi does not make the full advanced driver-assistance suite standard on the base trim. At the entry level, you get blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear emergency braking. You need to move up to the SE for adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition.

IIHS gives the Outlander a Good rating for its headlights, but the model has not been broadly tested beyond that for this year. The safety story is strongest once you move beyond the base trim, since the more advanced highway-assist features are not standard.

Should I buy a 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.05% compared with last year.
• The 2025 refresh matters to you because it brings new tech, a better sound system, and improved suspension tuning.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Outlander with the comfort and tech updates, the 2025 is the better pick. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but you should still focus on condition, equipment, and accident history first.
