Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS stands out as the roomiest vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, with three rows of seating for six or seven people and up to 94 cubic feet of cargo space. It is positioned as a midsize SUV that blends the comfort and space of the S-Class luxury sedan with some off-road capability, so you get a family-focused luxury hauler rather than a traditional full-size SUV.

What makes it especially distinctive is the breadth of its equipment and the way Mercedes has continued to refine the GLS formula. For shoppers who want a large, upscale SUV with genuine passenger and cargo flexibility, it packages a lot of usable luxury into one vehicle.

32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS emphasizes comfort, premium materials, and easy-to-use technology, which supports its appeal as a refined luxury SUV. It also benefits from the second generation’s focus on usability and family-friendly practicality.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, feature-rich luxury SUV can be costly to keep in top condition, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with lots of equipment. Focus on the condition of the third row, touch-sensing controls, and overall cabin wear, since those are the kinds of details that can affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Should I buy a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.62% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $70,126, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $78,956 average.
• It adds refreshed styling, more standard equipment, and updated infotainment.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It offers the brand’s most spacious three-row SUV package.
• It emphasizes comfort, refinement, and rewarding driving dynamics.

The 2025 is the best primary path if you want the current-year balance of space, luxury, and market softness. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play because it delivers many of the same core strengths for less.
