Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS stands out as the roomiest vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, with three rows of seating for six or seven people and up to 94 cubic feet of cargo space. It is positioned as a midsize SUV that blends the comfort and space of the S-Class luxury sedan with some off-road capability, so you get a family-focused luxury hauler rather than a traditional full-size SUV.

That mix makes it especially appealing if you want usable luxury, passenger flexibility, and cargo room in one vehicle. The 2025 model also adds a fingerprint scanner as standard and new exterior and interior colors as part of the Manufaktur Signature range of options.

With 38.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market offers a meaningful number of attractive opportunities.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS is presented as a comfort-focused luxury SUV with premium materials and easy-to-use technology, and the model’s refinement is a major part of its appeal. It also continues Mercedes’ emphasis on a polished, family-friendly driving experience with genuine passenger and cargo flexibility.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, highly equipped luxury SUV can become expensive to maintain if you buy a poorly cared-for example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify service records before you commit. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a luxury SUV like this, since you want to confirm that the cabin features, electronics, and seating functions all work as expected. Focus on overall condition, because wear in a high-end three-row SUV can be more expensive to correct than it looks at first glance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,560 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $78,878, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $78,878 sits slightly below last year's $89,625.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can help you negotiate now but may also mean softer resale expectations later. If you plan to sell in a few years, the current pricing trend implies you should buy carefully and prioritize condition, mileage, and equipment. A well-kept example should hold up better than one that has been neglected, especially in a luxury SUV segment where buyers are selective.

Should I buy a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $71,817, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $78,878 average.
• It adds refreshed styling, more standard equipment, and a newer infotainment system.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It offers more passenger room and cargo space than any other Mercedes model.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current-market value and a well-equipped luxury three-row SUV, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2024 is the better secondary option, especially if you can find one with the right equipment and condition.
