Reviewed a 2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class on Jun 13, 2024
I bought my 2015 Mercedes-Benz E250 Bluematic in 2017 when it came off a 2 year corporate lease with just 20,000 miles. I was looking at a hybrid Honda for $40K, but picked this up for the same price. I was driving from PDX to Seattle once a week, a 430 mile per day roundtrip and wanted a smooth ride with great fuel economy. The E250 (2.1L 4) gets 45MPG on the road and is remarkably quiet and refined. A diesel has the low-end torque to leave all but muscle cars in the dust on a hill. Just got back from a 12 day 4,000 mile trip to Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Craters of the Moon and Lewis and Clark Caverns - Average mileage was 43.6MPG. It was comforting to knock out 400 miles and be at only half a tank. Despite having owned it for 7 years, I still cant find anything better. It outdoes the best hybrids on fuel economy, runs smooth as silk, has all the best telematics, has the luxury car features, leather, lane keeping, collision avoidance, great sound and navigation systems. Thanks to COVID, my miles dropped from 500 a week to 500 a month. Now we use it for big trips to the National Parks. Gotta love that diesel at just $3.35/gal.
