Used 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata for Sale near Hurlburt Field, FL

Is the 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata a good car?

The 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata earns an expert rating of 7.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It is a rear-wheel-drive, two-seat convertible that stays focused on driving enjoyment rather than everyday practicality. Mazda gives you a six-speed manual transmission standard, plus a soft top or hard top setup, and the car is praised for stylish design, great handling, and precise responses in corners.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the technology can be hard to use. That makes it a strong fit if you want a simple, engaging roadster and a poor fit if you need space or straight-line power.

The market signal is mixed but workable, with 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata reliable?

The 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata is presented as a straightforward, back-to-basics sports car, and that simplicity is part of its appeal. Mazda pairs the car’s lightweight roadster formula with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, a standard manual transmission, and a chassis tuned for driver engagement rather than complexity.

The expert review also points to solid long-term ownership fundamentals: the car’s performance is described as easy to manage, the gearing is excellent, and the powertrain is not pushed hard in normal use. Mazda’s warranty coverage is average for the class, and the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about living with a small, purpose-built sports car that asks you to accept limited practicality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a car with sporty use or a modified setup. Focus on the condition of the top, the cabin, and the suspension feel, since this car is built to be driven hard and can show wear in those areas. If you want the most complete picture, compare how the car’s equipment matches the trim level you are shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport, Club, and Grand Touring trims define the lineup, with the RF hard-top version limited to Club and Grand Touring. The base setup is intentionally simple, while the Grand Touring adds a more upscale cabin with standard leather seating and more convenience features.
• Powertrain: Every MX-5 uses a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, paired with rear-wheel drive. A six-speed manual is standard, while a six-speed automatic is available only on the Grand Touring trim.
• Safety package: Every trim gets lane-departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and cruise control. The Grand Touring adds automatic high beams and traffic sign recognition, and automatic-transmission cars also get adaptive cruise control and a distance and speed alert.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses an 8.8-inch screen controlled by a rotary dial. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless connectivity is included on Club and Grand Touring trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The Miata is rated at 26 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined.
