How much does the 2025 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 5.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,291 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2025 MINI Cooper earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

The 2025 redesign keeps the MINI’s small-car charm while making it a little bigger inside and out, and it still weighs less than 3,000 pounds. That helps preserve the playful personality while adding some room, and the Cooper S brings a potent turbocharged four-cylinder that supports the lively driving experience.

The trade-offs are clear: the infotainment is called terrible, and there’s no ability to independently shift gears without paying extra. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a stylish, fun-to-drive small car and can live with some tech and control compromises.

41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a solid chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 MINI Cooper is described as a redesigned model with a host of alterations throughout, and it still weighs less than 3,000 pounds. Its turbocharged four-cylinder and dual-clutch automatic are presented as lively and responsive, with the gearbox clicking off gears seamlessly.

The model also brings all-new infotainment tech, and the cabin includes standard heating for the front seats and steering wheel. If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any software or braking-system issues have been addressed before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a car with added tech or driver-assistance equipment. Focus on overall condition, software behavior, and whether the car’s features work as intended in daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is quirky and fresh, with a 9.4-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof on four-door models, and standard heated front seats and steering wheel. Base-trim buyers should pay attention to which comfort and convenience features are included versus optional.
• Powertrain: The car uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and front-wheel drive. The base model makes 161 horsepower, while the Cooper S makes 201 horsepower and is the stronger choice if you want the livelier driving experience.
• Safety package: The standard setup includes Safe Exit, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-keep assist are available in the Active Driving Assistant package for an additional $600.
• Infotainment: The latest Operating System 9 runs on a round 9.4-inch touchscreen. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and dual-zone climate control are standard, and there are several USB-C outlets throughout the cabin.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is EPA-rated at 28 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

Which 2025 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2025 MINI Cooper is offered in 4 trim levels: Signature three-door, Cooper S three-door, Cooper four-door, Cooper S four-door.

Here's the short version:

• Signature three-door: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MINI experience at the lowest price. It makes the most sense if you want the style and personality first, and you’re willing to skip the extra power of the S models.
• Cooper S three-door: This is the best-value trim if you care most about driving enjoyment. The stronger engine is the standout, and the expert review makes clear that the added torque is worth it if you want the livelier version.
• Cooper four-door: Choose this if you want the MINI look and feel with easier access and a bit more practicality. It keeps the same basic character while adding the four-door body style.
• Cooper S four-door: This is the pick if you want the stronger engine and the added convenience of four doors. It suits you best if you want the most well-rounded version without moving into the more specialized performance trims.

The safety package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-keep assist for an additional $600.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market, with meaningful deal availability and a healthy amount of inventory to shop.

• Deal availability: 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,291 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,609, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $30,615 sits slightly below last year's $32,414.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you’re a future seller, the current trend means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2025 MINI Cooper has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup includes Safe Exit, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and lane-keep assist are available through the Active Driving Assistant package, but they are not standard.

One important caveat is that the integrated braking system has already been recalled, so you should confirm that any used example has had the remedy completed before you buy.

Should I buy a 2025 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model is redesigned with all-new infotainment tech and a larger cabin while keeping the MINI’s playful personality.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign, the 2025 is the right path because it brings the updated cabin, fresh tech, and the same fun character in a slightly roomier package. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still appeal, but the 2025’s softened pricing and strong inventory make it the better all-around shopping target right now.

2025 MINI Cooper:

• Pros: Vivacious power output in S model, Sporty dynamics, Spacious interior for its size.
• Cons: Terrible infotainment, No ability to independently shift gears without ponying up, High base price.

2025 BMW 2 Series:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Standard all-wheel drive, Plenty of cargo space.
• Cons: Uninspired styling, Unintuitive technology, Firm ride quality.

Our experts score the 2025 MINI Cooper 7/10 and the 2025 BMW 2 Series 6.3/10. The MINI is the more characterful choice if you want sporty dynamics and a spacious-feeling cabin for its size. The BMW counters with standard all-wheel drive and more cargo space, but its styling and technology are less appealing. If you care most about personality and driving feel, the MINI is the stronger pick; if you want more utility and standard AWD, the BMW has the edge.
