Used 2025 Lexus GX for Sale nearDurham, NC

How much does the 2025 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 6.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,021 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used GX options to compare.

Is the 2025 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Lexus GX earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The GX comes across as a stylish midsize luxury SUV with strong on-road manners and impressive off-road ability, so it fits you well if you want a premium vehicle that can do more than commute. The expert review also points to great looks, easy-to-use technology, and overall versatility as major strengths.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and the fact that off-road features are not standard across the lineup. Even so, the GX’s broad capability makes it appealing if you want a luxury SUV that feels well rounded rather than narrowly focused.

There are 32.0% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GX’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward, capability-first setup and the way the expert review describes its strong all-around execution. The powertrain is presented as robust, and the cabin and controls are described as easy to live with, which matters when you plan to keep a used SUV for years.

The review also notes user-friendly standard driver-assistance tech and a well-integrated infotainment setup, both of which can reduce day-to-day ownership friction. If you buy one, long-term risk is more likely to come from maintenance and operating costs than from a lack of overall competence.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Lexus GX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific truck you’re considering has a clean service record. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you’re looking at a GX that has seen trail use, since off-road hardware and underbody wear can matter more here than on a typical luxury SUV. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, suspension behavior, and signs of hard use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX’s lineup spans comfort-focused and trail-focused versions, and the base setup does not include every off-road feature. If you want the most rugged equipment, make sure the truck you’re considering actually has the hardware you expect.
• Powertrain: Every GX trim uses a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 with 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. The review notes strong acceleration and confident highway passing, but also poor fuel economy.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, with adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, road sign assist, lane-departure alert, automatic high-beams, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. A 360-degree camera system is also included, and the Overtrail+ tester added pedestrian detection.
• Infotainment: The GX uses a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth are standard, and the system is described as quick, intuitive, and easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The GX is rated at 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, and the review describes its fuel economy as a weak point.

Which 2025 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Lexus GX is offered in 6 trim levels: Premium, Premium+, Overtrail, Overtrail+, Luxury, Luxury+.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the GX’s core strengths without pushing the price as high as the more specialized versions. It suits you if you want the basic luxury-and-capability formula and plan to add only what you truly need.
• Premium+: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it builds on the base truck with a more upscale feel while staying more approachable than the trail-focused and top luxury trims. If you want the most balanced GX, start here.
• Overtrail: This is the trim to choose if you care most about off-road capability and want the GX’s rugged character to come through more clearly. It adds the hardware and focus that make the GX especially compelling away from pavement.
• Overtrail+: This is the most capable-looking and most trail-oriented version in the lineup, and it suits you if off-road use is a priority and you want the most complete adventure setup.
• Luxury: This trim shifts the GX more toward comfort than trail readiness, so it makes sense if you want a more upscale daily driver and care less about rugged extras.
• Luxury+: This is the most comfort-focused choice, and it fits you if you want the highest-end GX experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety suite is standard across the lineup, which helps keep the trim decision focused on comfort, capability, and equipment rather than basic protection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus GX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,021 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $85,313, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $85,313 sits slightly below last year's $91,684.

That price movement suggests the GX has softened enough to create better used-car buying opportunities now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the right number, you can reduce the risk of overpaying into a market that has already moved down.

The GX’s strong reputation for capability and its high owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Lexus GX safe?

The 2025 Lexus GX has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with Curve Speed Management, lane-centering assistance, road sign assist, lane-departure alert, automatic high-beams, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. The review describes the system as very user-friendly and not overly intrusive.

A 360-degree camera system and rearview camera are also standard, and the Overtrail+ tester added pedestrian detection. The review does not flag a major safety shortcoming beyond the lack of formal crash-test ratings.

Should I buy a 2025 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 stands out for its stylish redesign, strong on-road manners, and impressive off-road ability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds seven-passenger seating, just over 9,000 pounds of towing, and more than 90 cubic feet of cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the better-value used buy right now, the 2025 is the stronger starting point because prices have eased and inventory is healthy. If you need the broader utility described for the next model year, it may be worth stretching to the 2026; otherwise, the 2025 gives you the core GX experience with a more favorable market setup.
