How much does the 2025 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 7.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,372 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2025 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

The Sorento is positioned as a “right-sized” SUV, so you get something larger than a compact but smaller than many three-row midsize SUVs. That makes it a practical fit if you want occasional third-row use rather than a full-time people mover. The turbo-gas version also brings a powerful engine, impressive technology, and Kia’s strong warranty coverage.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, the third row is cramped, and cargo space is limited. Even so, if you want a versatile family SUV with strong tech and a useful size, the Sorento makes a compelling case.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The core gas trims are LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige, with the latter three moving to the turbocharged engine. The LX is the most basic version, while the upper trims add more upscale equipment and features.
• Powertrain: LX and S use a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, while the other gas trims use a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The turbo engine is the better choice if you want stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist is standard on all 2025 Sorento models except the LX. SX and SX Prestige add more advanced collision-avoidance features, evasive steering assist, a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Highway Driving Assist 2.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 Sorento has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SX and SX Prestige pair the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and the 24-inch panoramic display gives the cabin a more upscale feel.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX and S return up to 26 mpg in combined driving, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 23 mpg in combined driving. The X-Pro version averaged 23.4 mpg during evaluation.

Which 2025 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Sorento’s size and basic utility at the lowest entry point, but it uses the less powerful engine and misses Highway Driving Assist.
• S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the lower-cost engine while adding more equipment than the LX.
• EX: This is the first trim that moves you into the turbocharged engine, so it’s the better pick if you want stronger performance without jumping all the way to the top.
• SX: This trim adds more advanced safety and driver-assistance tech, plus a more premium feel, making it a strong choice if you want a well-rounded upgrade.
• SX Prestige: This is the most upscale mainstream gas trim, with the most advanced equipment and the richest cabin presentation.

The safety package gets more sophisticated as you move up the trim ladder, with the biggest upgrades on SX and SX Prestige.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep distress pricing.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,372 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.63% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,734, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia Sorento?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific car’s condition matches the listing. Pay close attention to the third row, cargo area, and interior materials, since those are the areas where this SUV’s compromises are most likely to show up. If you’re considering a higher trim, make sure the added tech and driver-assistance features are working properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only lineup includes LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige, with the upper trims adding more upscale equipment and features.
• Powertrain: LX and S use a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the other gas trims use a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist is standard on all trims except the LX, and SX and SX Prestige add more advanced collision-avoidance features, evasive steering assist, a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Highway Driving Assist 2.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 Sorento has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while SX and SX Prestige add a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel alongside the 12.3-inch touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX and S can return up to 26 mpg in combined driving, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 23 mpg in combined driving.

Is the 2025 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sorento’s appeal is reinforced by Kia’s great warranty and its easy daily livability. The turbo-gas version is described as rewarding in everyday use, and the model’s strong performance and cost-effectiveness scores support the idea that it should be a satisfying ownership experience. The standard maintenance and ownership experience also benefit from Kia’s generous warranty coverage.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about choosing a trim that matches your needs, since the cabin space and materials are not as strong as the powertrain and tech.

Is the 2025 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2025 Kia Sorento earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for frontal impact and rollover resistance. It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia installs plenty of standard safety features, and the system gets more sophisticated as you move up the trim ladder. Highway Driving Assist is standard on all trims except the LX, and SX and SX Prestige add numerous active collision-avoidance features, evasive steering assist, a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Highway Driving Assist 2.

There is one important caveat: the Sorento may lose its IIHS Top Safety Pick recognition in 2025, so safety-minded shoppers should pay close attention to trim level and equipment.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over without significant changes after the 2024 refresh, while adding a new gray paint color and standard black badges on some models.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,111, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $31,734 average.
• It brought major infotainment and safety updates, plus a new X-Pro trim.

The bottom line: If you want the latest model-year pricing data and are shopping a well-equipped gas Sorento, the 2025 is the cleaner target. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play because it delivers much of the same core package for less.
