Is the 2025 Kia EV6 a good car?

The 2025 Kia EV6 earns an expert rating of 7.83/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

That score lines up with what you see in the model-year updates and the expert review: the EV6 brings an attractive design, a stylish and practical interior, and one of the most sophisticated EV platforms at its price point. For this year, Kia also adds an exterior facelift, a revised interior, increased battery capacity, a new charging port, modified steering, frame enhancements to ensure safety, and next-generation infotainment technology.

The trade-offs are real, though. The expert review calls out aggravating safety features and frustrating voice recognition tech, and cargo space is not especially generous.

If you want an electric crossover that feels premium, drives well, and offers strong range and quick charging, the EV6 makes a compelling case. The market also looks healthy, with 41.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Kia EV6 reliable?

The 2025 Kia EV6 is presented as a well-built EV with a sophisticated platform, premium materials, and strong everyday usability. The expert review also emphasizes commendable power, plenty of driving range, and quick recharging times, which all support the case for a solid ownership experience.

The performance notes point to a capable electric setup with strong output, efficient operation, and rapid charging when you can access the right equipment. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight Kia’s generous warranty plans, roadside assistance, and Kia Connect support, which can help reduce ownership friction.

If you plan to keep one used for the long haul, your biggest risk is less about the basic EV6 formula and more about making sure the specific car has been cared for properly and that its charging and software systems behave as expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia EV6?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example or one that has seen frequent fast charging. Pay close attention to the condition of the charging port, infotainment behavior, and any driver-assistance quirks during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT. The Light is the most basic version, while the higher trims add more range, more power, and more equipment. The GT-Line stands out as the best-value choice if you want a strong mix of range, features, and everyday appeal.
• Powertrain: The EV6 uses single-motor rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor all-wheel-drive setups, depending on trim. The Light uses a 63-kWh battery with 167 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the larger-battery versions offer either 225 hp and 258 lb-ft or 320 hp and 446 lb-ft in AWD form.
• Safety package: Kia equips the EV6 with plenty of driver aids, including Highway Driving Assist 2, which pairs adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist. The expert review also notes that some safety features can be overly aggressive, so you should test them carefully.
• Infotainment: The EV6 uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system’s new software is much improved, though Kia Connect-dependent functions matter for full usefulness.
• Range & charging: Range varies from 237 miles to 310 miles, depending on configuration. The larger battery is 84 kWh, and the 800-volt system can take the battery from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes on a 350-kW charger under ideal conditions.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car was typically charged at home versus on DC fast chargers, and verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2025 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia EV6 is offered in 5 trim levels: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry point, and it gives you the EV6 experience at the lowest price, but it also brings the smallest battery and the shortest range. It makes sense if you want the EV6’s design and platform without paying for extra range or power.
• Light Long Range: This trim is the first one that meaningfully broadens the EV6’s appeal, thanks to the larger battery and stronger range. If you want the best balance of value and usability, this is the trim to focus on.
• Wind: The Wind keeps the larger battery and adds more of the EV6’s desirable everyday appeal. It’s a smart middle-ground choice if you want more equipment without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it combines the larger battery, strong available power, and the more upscale look and feel that make the EV6 so appealing. It’s the trim that best captures the model’s premium character.
• GT: Choose this only if you want the most performance-focused version of the EV6. It sits at the top of the lineup and is the one for buyers who want the most aggressive setup.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but some driver-assistance features can behave more aggressively than you may want, so it’s worth testing them on your own route.

• The 2025 EV6 adds an exterior facelift, a revised interior, increased battery capacity, a new charging port, modified steering, frame enhancements to ensure safety, and next-generation infotainment technology.
