Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Hyundai Palisade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

It fits your needs well if you want a spacious, practical three-row SUV with a strong family focus. The Palisade also stands out for its upscale design, thoughtful packaging, and continued improvements in styling and technology.

The market shows 34.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Palisade’s reliability case is helped by its refined V6 powertrain, smooth-shifting automatic transmission, and the sense that it has aged well as a family SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a higher-mileage example may reflect the wear that comes with a large, heavily used three-row SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Palisade?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim example with more equipment. Focus on interior condition, electronics, and signs of heavy family use, since this is the kind of SUV that often sees frequent daily duty.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE already has a clean, modern look and feel, while higher trims add more luxury cues such as premium leather, artificial suede, seat piping, and metal speaker grilles. The XRT adds standard equipment, and the SEL Premium brings more upscale features than the lower trims.
• Powertrain: Every Palisade uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. It’s smooth and refined, but it is not especially fuel-efficient.
• Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection turning assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Highway Driving Assist. The SEL adds an ultrasonic rear occupant alert, the XRT adds front parking sensors and a surround-view camera, the SEL Premium adds Blind Spot View Monitor and evasive steering assist, and the Calligraphy adds automatic braking when parking plus Remote Smart Parking Assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a cable, but the system also includes two-device Bluetooth support, wireless smartphone charging, SiriusXM, Bluelink+ connected services, and available navigation and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The Palisade averages 22 mpg in combined driving, or 21 mpg with AWD.

Which 2025 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 7 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, SEL Premium, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the Palisade’s upscale design and roomy family-SUV packaging. It makes sense if you want the core experience without paying for extra luxury or convenience features.
• SEL: This trim adds the ultrasonic rear occupant alert system, making it a smart step up if family safety and everyday practicality matter most.
• XRT: The XRT adds front parking sensors and a surround-view camera, so it’s the better pick if you want more parking help and a little more standard equipment.
• SEL Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds Blind Spot View Monitor, evasive steering assist, and lane-change assist functions without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Limited: The Limited doesn’t improve on the SEL Premium, so it’s mainly for shoppers who find the specific equipment mix or pricing appealing.
• Calligraphy: This trim adds automatic braking when parking and Remote Smart Parking Assist, and it brings the most luxury-oriented feel.
• Calligraphy Night Edition: Choose this if you want the Calligraphy experience with a darker appearance theme.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the SEL Premium is the trim where the added driver-assistance hardware starts to feel especially compelling.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Palisade?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,527 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,678, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $34,678 sits slightly below last year's $41,945.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, trim, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the Palisade still has strong demand as a family-focused three-row SUV, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Palisade earns a Top Safety Pick from IIHS, and it earns five-star frontal impact ratings and four-star rollover resistance ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai SmartSense includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection turning assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Higher trims add more advanced features, including an ultrasonic rear occupant alert, a surround-view camera, Blind Spot View Monitor, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist functions, automatic braking when parking, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The main caveat is the Poor result in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test, which kept the Palisade from repeating its earlier IIHS accolade.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The outgoing model still feels well developed, with improved styling, technology, and packaging.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $33,551, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $34,678 average.
• It offers a roomy, upscale, and value-oriented family-hauler setup.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a redesigned three-row SUV with broader improvements across the board.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, inventory, and proven appeal, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2024 can save you money while still delivering much of the same core appeal. If you’d rather wait for the newest redesign, the 2026 is the upgrade path.
