Used 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 for Sale nearDemorest, GA

Is the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 earns an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Hyundai keeps the formula largely intact for 2025, which works in your favor if you want an electric SUV that already had a strong foundation. The Ioniq 5 still stands out with distinctive styling, a modern cabin, standard advanced safety features, and access to a broad public charging network. It’s also been lightly updated rather than reinvented, so the changes are aimed at improving what already worked.

The trade-offs are straightforward: competitors offer more storage space, and real leather isn’t available. Even so, if you want an EV that feels fresh, easy to live with, and well equipped, the Ioniq 5 remains a compelling choice.

The market looks reasonably favorable, with 37.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is presented as a carry-forward EV that builds on an already proven formula, with Hyundai making only minor changes for the year. That matters for reliability because the model isn’t being asked to absorb a major redesign, and the expert assessment emphasizes that Hyundai is improving what was already working rather than taking risks with the core package.

The expert notes also point to a well-sorted electric drivetrain and a vehicle that has improved over time, while the safety and tech updates are incremental rather than disruptive. Hyundai’s five-year/60,000-mile new-car warranty adds another layer of reassurance for used buyers, especially if you’re planning to keep the vehicle for the long haul.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual EV diligence: you’ll want to confirm battery condition, charging behavior, and overall maintenance history before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong clean-inventory rate, you should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on charging performance, tire wear, brake condition, and whether the vehicle has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging. On an EV, those details can matter as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE trim is the most basic version, and the safety content suggests it may miss blind-spot collision-avoidance assist that appears on higher trims. If you want more convenience and driver-assistance equipment, the SEL, XRT, and Limited are the trims to compare closely.
• Powertrain: The Ioniq 5 is offered with single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive. RWD models produce 168 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque with the standard-range battery, or 225 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque with the long-range battery; AWD models make 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite includes Highway Driving Assist 1 on the base trim, while Highway Driving Assist 2 comes on the SEL, XRT, and Limited. Standard features also include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, an enhanced driver attention system, and parking-distance warning.
• Infotainment: You get twin 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard navigation, Bluetooth for two devices, and five USB-C ports. The Bose Premium Audio system is limited to the Limited and XRT trims, while the head-up display is exclusive to the Limited.
• Range & charging: Most trims can travel 318 miles in single-motor, rear-wheel-drive form. The base trim is rated at 245 miles, AWD SE and SEL models drop to 290 miles, the larger-wheeled Limited AWD is rated at 269 miles, and the AWD-only XRT is rated at 259 miles. Hyundai also includes either a complimentary ChargePoint charger installation or $400 in charging credit.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, check battery state-of-health, ask how often the car has been DC fast charged versus charged at home, and review the remaining battery warranty coverage before you buy.

Which 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is offered in 4 trim levels: SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE Standard Range: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with the most basic setup. It’s rear-wheel drive only and makes the most sense if you’re focused on value over range or equipment.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the Ioniq 5’s core strengths while opening the door to more range and available all-wheel drive. It also gives you the standard safety and tech foundation without pushing you into the pricier trims.
• SEL: This is the trim to target if you want a more complete daily-driver experience. It adds access to more advanced driver-assistance tech and the wireless charging pad, making it a strong middle-ground choice.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich trim, with the head-up display and the most upscale equipment mix. It’s the one to choose if you want the fullest tech and comfort package.

The safety package is strongest on the higher trims, while the base trim appears to lose blind-spot collision-avoidance assist.

• Clean inventory: 93.8% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS every year since its debut and has already secured five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s safety suite is comprehensive and has grown for 2025. Standard equipment includes an enhanced driver attention system with haptic steering wheel feedback, hands-on detection, and forward attention warning, plus reverse and forward parking-distance warning. Highway Driving Assist 1 is standard on the base trim, while Highway Driving Assist 2 comes on the SEL, XRT, and Limited trims and adds lane-changing capability.

One caveat is that the base trim appears to lose blind-spot collision-avoidance assist for this model year, so if that feature matters to you, you’ll want to shop higher trims.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Hyundai makes minor but welcome changes and keeps the Ioniq 5’s strong formula intact.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It remains one of the best EVs around, with stylish looks, fast charging, good range, and practicality.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want a lightly updated Ioniq 5 with strong safety, good availability, and a broad trim range. If you’re price-sensitive, the used market makes the 2025 especially worth a look, since you can shop among plenty of clean listings and still get the model’s core strengths without paying for a brand-new EV.
