Used 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 for Sale nearHartford, CT

Is the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 earns an 8.7/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Hyundai’s approach here is to refine a formula that already worked well, and the result is a distinctive electric SUV that still stands out for its angular styling and fresh design. It also fits buyers who want access to a broad public charging network and standard advanced safety features, while the overall package remains easy to recommend for shoppers who value style and everyday usability.

The tradeoffs are worth keeping in mind: competitors offer more storage space, and real leather isn’t available. Even so, the IONIQ 5 remains a strong choice if you want an EV that feels unusual in a crowded segment and doesn’t need a full redesign to stay relevant.

The market looks healthy, with 32.8% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is presented as a well-sorted EV that Hyundai has improved without upsetting the core formula. The expert review emphasizes that the model got the basics right from the start and has continued to build on that foundation, which is a good sign for long-term dependability.

The performance notes also point to a straightforward electric setup with instant torque and no indication of major complexity in the way the vehicle delivers power. Hyundai’s cost-effectiveness notes add that the brand includes a complimentary ChargePoint charger installation or $400 in charging credit, and the vehicle is backed by Hyundai’s five-year/60,000-mile new-car warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual EV diligence: you should verify battery condition, charging behavior, and remaining warranty coverage before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing trims with different charging, safety, and convenience equipment. Focus on overall condition, battery health, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific car you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE, SEL, Limited, and XRT each bring different equipment levels, and the base trim appears to lose blind-spot collision-avoidance assist for this model year. Higher trims add more convenience and safety hardware, so make sure the car you’re looking at has the features you expect.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes rear-wheel-drive single-motor versions and dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions. Output ranges from 168 horsepower in standard-range RWD form to 320 horsepower in AWD form, with range varying by configuration.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite includes Highway Driving Assist 1 on the base trim and Highway Driving Assist 2 on the SEL, XRT, and Limited trims. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, enhanced driver attention monitoring, reverse and forward parking-distance warning, and blind-spot collision warning on the base trim.
• Infotainment: You get twin 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard navigation, dynamic voice recognition, Bluetooth for two devices, and five USB-C ports. The head-up display is limited to the Limited trim.
• Range & charging: The base trim is rated at 245 miles of range, while other configurations can reach 318 miles in rear-wheel-drive form. AWD versions reduce range, and the XRT is rated at 259 miles. Hyundai says the battery capacity is slightly higher for 2025, and the model supports DC fast charging.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has typically been charged at home versus on DC fast chargers, and verify how much of the battery warranty remains. A clean charging history and strong remaining coverage matter more than mileage alone.

Which 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, XRT.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core IONIQ 5 experience with standard advanced safety tech, the twin-screen layout, and the most affordable way into the lineup. It makes the most sense if you want the design and EV fundamentals without paying for extras.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and tech while unlocking more of the available driver-assistance content. If you want a more complete daily-driver setup without jumping to the top end, this is the trim to focus on.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, adding higher-end equipment such as the head-up display and more advanced safety visibility tech. Choose this if you want the most polished version of the IONIQ 5 without moving into the adventure-oriented model.
• XRT: This is the new adventure-ready trim, with unique styling, all-weather touches, and AWD-only hardware. It suits you if you want the most distinctive look and the extra capability-oriented setup, though it is not a rock-crawling off-roader.

The base trim appears to lose blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, while the SEL, XRT, and Limited get Highway Driving Assist 2.

Is the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 safe?

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 has earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS every year since its debut, and it has already secured five stars out of five from NHTSA. It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s safety suite is comprehensive and grows for 2025 with an enhanced driver attention system that adds haptic steering wheel feedback, hands-on detection, and forward attention warning. Hyundai also adds reverse and forward parking-distance warning, while Highway Driving Assist 1 comes on the base trim and Highway Driving Assist 2 is included on the SEL, XRT, and Limited trims.

One caveat is that blind-spot collision-avoidance assist appears to have been removed from the base trim, leaving blind-spot collision warning instead. If you want the more advanced version of that feature, you’ll want to shop higher trims.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Hyundai keeps the formula intact while adding useful updates, including a new adventure-ready trim and improved tech.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the IONIQ 5’s strong styling, fast charging, and practicality while remaining a top EV pick.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right choice if you want the refreshed version with useful updates and a healthy used-car market. If you’re price-sensitive, the nearby model years are worth comparing closely, but the 2025 remains the safer bet for shoppers who want the latest mix of features and availability.

How does the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 compare to the 2025 Kia EV6?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5:

• Pros: Broad public charging network, Standard advanced safety features, Stylish design.
• Cons: Competitors have more storage space, Real leather not available.

2025 Kia EV6:

• Pros: Sophisticated EV platform, Stylish design, Premium interior materials.
• Cons: Aggravating safety features, Frustrating voice recognition tech, Not much cargo space.

Our experts score the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 8.7/10 and the 2025 Kia EV6 7.8/10. The IONIQ 5 comes across as the more complete all-around pick here, especially if you value standard safety features and broad charging access. The EV6 counters with a more premium-feeling interior and a sophisticated EV platform, but its weaker safety and tech feedback make it the less appealing choice overall. If you want the stronger expert-rated package, the Hyundai is the better bet; if you care most about interior materials and a more upscale vibe, the Kia still has appeal.
