CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Honda Ridgeline
overall

Summary
With 1,315 currently listed for sale and an average price of $36,982.00, 32.6% of 2025 Honda Ridgelines for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Honda Ridgeline 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
92.9% of 2025 Ridgeline models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline stands out because Honda takes a different approach to midsize pickup trucks. Instead of following the traditional truck formula, it uses crossover-like unibody construction and clever storage solutions, which gives it a character that feels more everyday-friendly than many pickups. It also comes with standard all-wheel drive, and its comfortable ride and great handling make it especially appealing to buyers who want a truck that is easy to live with.
That same approach comes with tradeoffs. The 2025 Ridgeline does not offer the towing capacity or off-road capability of more traditional trucks, and its limiting towing capacity is a notable drawback for shoppers who need maximum utility. It also has outdated technology, so while it is practical and pleasant to drive, it is not the most modern choice in the segment.

Reviewed a 2025 Honda Ridgeline on Oct 31, 2025
I started my truck search looking at full-size trucks, but honestly didn’t want the exterior size to be that big. Just on a side, have you noticed how a lot of the worst drivers on the road are driving the big full-size trucks? I didn’t know the purpose of having a Hemi to actually run people off the road. You know what I mean? That dude is barreling down the interstate doing about 87mph pulling a big @$$ box trailer and he’s like fish tailing all over the place? Back to the review. I drove a Jeep Gladiator, a Tacoma, a Colorado and the Nissan Frontier. The Gladiator was almost scary on the highway. Lots of wind noise and blowing me all over the place even at the lower highway speeds around 55-60mpg. For that reason, it didn’t make sense to me as a daily driver on paved roads. While the new Colorado and Tacoma have that brawny stance, neither of them have a V6. What’s the deal with the 4 banger turbo thing? It’s like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that old Christmas movie, “Jingle All The Way.” “I have to get the “Turbo Man!!” What they are not telling you about the 4 cylinder turbo stuff is that even if a 4 cylinder engine has the power of Ivan Drago in Rocky 4, it is working harder to produce that power compared to the naturally aspirated V6. Multiple mechanics I know personally have said the same thing. Inside, both Tac and Colorado were small and cramped. At first glance, you think they are going to be bigger inside then they are. This was disappointing and strange given how the outside is larger than their prior generations. An odd tech. thing about the Colorado was that you actually turn the headlights on using the touch screen. I also thought that the inside materials in the Colorado felt cheap. That glossy plastic stuff if you know what I mean. I liked the tow rating, but decided to keep shopping. The Frontier was actually my second favorite truck behind the Ridgeline. The naturally aspirated V6 instead of the turbo was already setting it above the other trucks. Then, I drove the Ridgeline and it was like Wow!! This thing rocks!! Honda’s proven reliable V6, smooth driving, yet flexible enough on the dirt or gravel roads, I can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed because there’s no stupid wheel well hump. I absolutely love the tailgate swing out! It gets my body closer to whatever goods I am lifting out of the back instead of having to lean forward. Honda nailed it with this feature! Plus, let me just say that Ridgeline’s interior almost feels like a full size truck. I have tall teenage boys and the first thing they said when they got in the Ridgeline was “Wow dad!! This is nice and big inside!” Plus, as roomy as it is, I like that Ridgeline fits in a standard garage space too! If you get heavy rains, or it happens to snow, it’s nice to be covered when you want to be. You’ve got drive settings for different terrain and that suits my needs. Another reviewer said the Ridgeline meets the needs of 80% of people driving trucks and he nailed it with that statement. it’s absolutely true. A lot of people are driving big trucks and Jeeps and they never actually use them for the purpose they are intended for. You have those folks that don’t actually need 4 wheel drive. If you’re like me, you want a truck that gives you the utility you need, want to grab some landcape supplies, sheet goods, farm or garden stuff, and rides awesome on both paved and gravel or dirt roads, this is the truck for you. Don’t you love these guys with Jeep fantasies that make stupid videos criticizing Honda trying to create skepticism like…. “Can it do any serious off roading?” You can’t criticize it for something it’s not designed for. If you want a rock crawler you get a Jeep or something similar (locking differential, higher ground clearance, a lift, bigger rubber etc,).

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $36,956 |
| Year-Round Low | $36,848.34 |
| Year-Round High | $40,008.94 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $40,013 |

Prices have softened 7.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,344 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare trims and conditions.
If you find a listing below $36,848.34, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating.
The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.
It stands out because Honda takes a different approach to midsize pickups, using unibody construction and clever storage solutions that make it feel more everyday-friendly than many trucks. It also has standard all-wheel drive, plus a comfortable ride and great handling that make it especially appealing if you want a truck that is easy to live with.
The trade-offs are clear: it does not offer the towing capacity or off-road capability of more traditional trucks, and its technology is dated compared with newer rivals.
With 31.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Ridgeline’s unibody construction, smooth V6 powertrain, and refined road manners point to a truck built for everyday durability rather than brute-force use. Its standard AWD system and solid fit and finish also support the sense that it is engineered to handle regular commuting, family duty, and light truck work without drama.
Honda’s three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty are in line with the segment. The V6 and nine-speed automatic are described as an excellent combination, and the truck’s overall refinement suggests a lower-stress ownership experience than more hard-edged pickups.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its limited towing and off-road capability may not match how you plan to use it.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to use the truck for towing or rougher roads. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake wear, and whether the truck’s features and driver aids operate as expected.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Ridgeline’s trims differ in appearance, equipment, and off-road emphasis. The TrailSport adds all-terrain tires, unique suspension tuning, and a front skid plate, while the Black Edition sits at the top of the range with additional equipment. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to which convenience and appearance features are missing.
- Powertrain: Every 2025 Ridgeline uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and standard AWD. The setup is smooth and responsive, and the truck’s unibody construction helps deliver a refined ride and precise handling.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation. The lack of a 360-degree camera system is a notable gap.
- Infotainment: You get a 9-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. The interface is functional, but the system’s graphics and screen size feel behind some rivals.
- Fuel efficiency: Most models return 21 mpg combined, with 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.
Which 2025 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, TrailSport, Black Edition.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Ridgeline’s core strengths: standard AWD, the V6 powertrain, and the practical, easy-to-live-with character that defines the truck. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and do not need the extra equipment of the higher trims.
- RTL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without moving too far up the price ladder. If you want a more polished daily driver and plan to keep the truck for mixed family and utility use, this is the trim to focus on.
- TrailSport: Choose this if you want the most off-road-oriented version in the lineup. It adds all-terrain tires, unique suspension tuning, and a front skid plate, but it still does not turn the Ridgeline into a hardcore trail truck.
- Black Edition: This is the top trim if you want the most upscale presentation and the most equipment. It suits you best if you want the Ridgeline’s practicality with the most premium feel in the lineup.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but the lack of a 360-degree camera system remains a trim-wide safety shortcoming.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.
- Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,344 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $36,848.34, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?
The current average of $36,956 sits slightly below last year's $40,013.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the trend continues. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a more realistic entry price than shoppers saw a year ago.
The Ridgeline’s practical design and broad appeal as an easy-to-live-with truck should help support demand over time. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment will matter if you want to protect resale value later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline safe?
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, along with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover testing.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation.
IIHS testing showed strong results in several areas, including a Good score in the updated side crash test and the original moderate front overlap test, plus an Acceptable score in the small overlap front test. Headlights were rated Marginal, and the lack of a 360-degree camera system is a notable shortcoming.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It carries over unchanged after the 2024 updates, so you get the latest version of this formula without paying for a redesign.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $34,773, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $36,956 average.
- It adds a new TrailSport trim and interior updates that modernize the truck.
The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Ridgeline’s current formula and are shopping the broader used market, the 2025 is the cleaner choice. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play because it delivers many of the same strengths for less money.
