How much does the 2025 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 5.15% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,408 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — with a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating, the 2025 Honda Pilot lands as a strong family-focused choice. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and plenty of cargo space. Comfortable seating and a good sense of security from safety ratings also come up repeatedly, which fits a three-row SUV built for daily family use.

The trade-offs are familiar: the dash screen could be larger, and lower trims could use more luxury features. The Pilot is especially appealing if you want a roomy, practical daily driver with lots of passenger and cargo space rather than a flashy cabin.

With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful shopping opportunity if you compare carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the Pilot as a vehicle they feel good about living with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Honda keeps the formula simple, which can be a plus for long-term confidence because there is less complexity to manage.

Honda’s Service Pass coverage is limited to 12 months or 12,000 miles, so you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and warranty coverage when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is not catastrophic reliability concerns so much as the usual wear-and-tear issues that come with a family SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a vehicle with lots of family-duty use. Focus on cabin condition, seat wear, and how well the technology and driver-assistance features operate in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is affordable but does not have many appealing amenities, so the EX-L is the recommended minimum upgrade. The Black Edition adds black wheels, blacked-out exterior trim, black badges, black leather seats with red perforation accents, red contrast stitching, and red ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: The Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, making 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Honda offers front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and AWD versions add hill descent control, torque vectoring, and up to 7.3 inches of ground clearance, or 8.3 inches on the TrailSport.
• Safety package: Every version gets Honda Sensing with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.
• Infotainment: The Black Edition has a 10.2-inch digital gauge panel and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, text-messaging support, wireless smartphone charging, navigation, HondaLink subscription services, Wi-Fi access, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is unimpressive, and the expert evaluation notes 21 mpg in combined driving, with city-heavy driving returning 17.8 mpg in testing.

Which 2025 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Pilot is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Elite, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is light on appealing amenities, so it makes sense mainly if you want the lowest starting price and plan to keep expectations modest.
• EX-L: This is the best-value choice because it adds the leather-lined upgrade the review recommends at a minimum, making the Pilot feel more complete without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the most rugged version of the Pilot, since the review says it leverages the model’s tougher look with added off-roading capability.
• Touring: This trim is the better pick if you want more comfort and convenience features without going all the way to the top of the range.
• Elite: This is the right step if you want a more premium Pilot and are willing to pay for it.
• Black Edition: This is the style-focused top trim, with blacked-out exterior details and red interior accents, and it suits you best if you want the most distinctive appearance.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings may move quickly.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,408 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.15% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,986, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $41,986 sits slightly below last year's $44,266.

That softer pricing suggests the Pilot is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you if you are shopping now. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale values to reflect a market that has already cooled somewhat.

Even so, the Pilot’s broad appeal as a roomy family SUV should help support demand. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable trims will matter more if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2025 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.

There are some caveats to keep in mind. The expert review notes that adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist can behave awkwardly in traffic, and road sign recognition can be inaccurate. Those issues do not erase the Pilot’s strong crash-test standing, but they do mean you should test the driver-assistance systems carefully on a used example.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings back the Black Edition with blacked-out trim and red interior accents.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a brawnier, more truck-like look while staying fundamentally familiar.

The bottom line: If you want the better shopping environment and the familiar Pilot formula, the 2025 is the safer buy. If you are mainly chasing the newest styling and can wait, the 2026 is the cleaner next-step choice. Price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2025, especially if they find a clean, well-priced EX-L or TrailSport.
