How much does the 2025 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 5.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,807 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Pilot earns a 4.91/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and plenty of cargo space. They also like the comfortable seating and the sense of security that comes from the Pilot’s safety ratings.

The trade-offs are familiar: the dash screen could be larger, and lower trims could use more luxury features. The Pilot fits you well if you want a roomy, practical three-row SUV that is easy to live with every day.

With 33.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is meaningful market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the Pilot’s smooth ride, spacious cabin, and confidence-inspiring feel. The expert evaluation also describes it as easy to live with and a sensible daily driver, which reinforces that low-drama character.

Honda’s Service Pass coverage is limited to 12 months or 12,000 miles, so you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and remaining warranty coverage when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the previous owner kept up with service and avoided neglect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, confirm the service record, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you are considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on cabin condition, tire wear, and how well the technology and driver-assistance features work in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is affordable but light on amenities, while the EX-L is the recommended minimum upgrade if you want a more appealing cabin. The TrailSport adds more rugged capability, and the Black Edition brings blacked-out exterior trim and red interior accents.
• Powertrain: The Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, making 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Honda offers front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and AWD models add hill descent control and torque-vectoring capability.
• Safety package: Every Pilot gets Honda Sensing with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch.
• Infotainment: The Black Edition tested here had a 9-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital gauge panel, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, SiriusXM, navigation, HondaLink, Wi-Fi access, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is unimpressive, with the test vehicle averaging 20 mpg on the evaluation loop and 21 mpg combined in official EPA testing.

Which 2025 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Pilot is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Elite, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is the least appealing choice if you want a more satisfying cabin. It makes sense only if your priority is keeping the purchase price down.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim because it adds the leather-lined upgrade the review recommends at a minimum. If you want the sweet spot between price and everyday comfort, this is the one to target.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the Pilot’s more rugged character and added off-roading capability. It is the trim that best matches buyers who want the Pilot to do more than suburban family duty.
• Touring: This trim sits above the core comfort-focused models and is a better fit if you want a more upscale Pilot without going all the way to the top.
• Elite: This is the more premium choice for buyers who want the highest level of comfort and equipment before the special-edition model.
• Black Edition: This is the top-of-the-line style play, with black wheels, blacked-out exterior trim, black badges, black leather seats, red perforation accents, red contrast stitching, and red ambient lighting.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,807 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,386, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $42,386 sits slightly below last year's $44,972.

That price movement suggests the Pilot has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be in a better position to limit depreciation pain later.

The Pilot’s broad appeal as a roomy, practical three-row SUV should help it remain marketable. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2025 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version comes with Honda Sensing, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch.

There are some caveats in the expert evaluation: adaptive cruise control behavior can be inconsistent in traffic, lane-centering assist can dull steering feel, and road sign recognition can be inaccurate. Those issues do not erase the Pilot’s strong crash-test results, but they are worth noting if you value polished driver-assistance behavior.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda keeps the formula simple with one powertrain, available AWD, and the Black Edition returning for 2025.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a brawnier, more truck-like look while keeping the same practical formula.

The bottom line: If you want the better shopping opportunity, the 2025 is the smarter path because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you are price-sensitive and find a clean, well-kept example, this model year offers the core Pilot strengths without forcing you to wait for the next one.
