CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Honda Civic
overall

Summary
With 4,681 currently listed for sale and an average price of $25,597, 32.2% of 2025 Honda Civics for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Honda Civic 4.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
87.0% of 2025 Civic models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Honda Civic stands out as a mid-cycle refresh that brings subtle but meaningful updates to a compact car that was already well regarded. Honda also expanded the powertrain lineup for the 11th generation, and for this model year the Civic lineup is divided by powertrain. In gas-only form, the 2025 Honda Civic is offered in LX and Sport trims or as the Civic Si, while the Civic Hybrid and the Honda Civic Type R are treated separately.
What makes the 2025 Honda Civic appealing is its broad range of personalities. The Civic Si is recommended for driving enthusiasts, while the base Civic is presented as a strong choice for new drivers and anyone seeking an affordable sedan or hatchback. It is also described as fun to drive, with a manual transmission available and Google Built-In available. At the same time, buyers should note that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual is lacking some user-friendly features.

The Civic SI is a blast to drive. The suspension is crazy in it. It is quick and nimble with plenty of mods you can do to make it even faster. Very comfortable ride even though it has the sorry suspension.

How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $25,597 |
| Year-Round Low | $25,218 |
| Year-Round High | $26,695 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $26,692 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −4.10% |
Prices have softened 4.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,787 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.
The 2025 Civic is presented as a broad-appeal compact car with a mid-cycle refresh, and the gas-only lineup is split by powertrain. That means you can shop it as an affordable sedan or hatchback, or step up to the Civic Si if you want the enthusiast-focused version. The expert review also highlights that it is fun to drive, with manual transmission availability and Google Built-In adding to its appeal.
The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and lane-keeping assist can be irritating. The manual also lacks some user-friendly features, so you should weigh those omissions against the Civic’s strengths if you want a more polished daily driver.
Good and great deals account for 32.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Civic is described as a well-rounded compact car that has aged with grace, and the expert review emphasizes that Honda’s updates for this model year are meaningful without being disruptive. The performance notes also point to a forgiving, user-friendly manual setup in the Si, with a light clutch and agreeable shifter action that should help reduce day-to-day wear from awkward operation.
Honda also includes standard maintenance support language for the Si, which adds a little ownership reassurance. Even so, you should still think about long-term wear items carefully, especially if you’re buying a used example that may have seen enthusiastic driving or skipped routine care.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or a car with signs of heavy use, and pay close attention to overall condition rather than just the odometer reading.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The gas-only lineup is split between LX, Sport, and Civic Si, and the base trims are more basic than the Si. The Si adds a more aggressive look, red interior accents, and a sportier cabin theme, while the lower trims miss some of the premium presentation and equipment.
- Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The base LX and Sport use a CVT, while the Si is manual-only.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics. The suite includes an improved collision-mitigation braking system that can better detect bicycles and motorcycles, adaptive cruise control tuned for smoother hill response, and lane-keeping assist with smoother operation. The lane-keeping system can still feel a bit aggressive.
- Infotainment: The Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Lower trims get a 7-inch touchscreen and wired smartphone projection.
- Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined. The Civic Si is EPA-rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.
Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest starting price and the best fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It gives you the essentials and makes the most sense if you want a straightforward commuter car.
- Sport: Choose this if you want a little more equipment than the LX without jumping all the way to the Si. It sits in the middle of the gas lineup and should appeal if you want a nicer-feeling daily driver without paying for the enthusiast trim.
- Civic Si: This is the best-value trim if you want the most engaging version of the gas Civic. It adds the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, larger touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, Bose audio, and the digital instrument cluster.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on strong listings.
- Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,787 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.10% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 87.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,218, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $25,597 sits slightly below last year's $26,692.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.
Because the Civic remains a popular compact car with broad appeal, a clean example should still attract interest when it’s time to sell. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance current, you’ll be in a better position to preserve value.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?
The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan earn Top Safety Pick+ awards from the IIHS and five-star overall ratings from NHTSA.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the updated suite includes improved collision-mitigation braking that better detects bicycles and motorcycles, smoother adaptive cruise control behavior, and updated lane-keeping assist. The system is broadly comprehensive, but the lane-keeping assist can still feel a little aggressive in practice.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.10% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Honda’s 2025 update adds meaningful refinements without changing the Civic’s broad appeal.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $25,310, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,597 average.
- It emphasizes affordable performance with a manual, turbocharged setup.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It carries over unchanged after the 2025 refresh.
- It keeps the Civic’s broad lineup and polished driving feel.
The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this generation with strong market support, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is saving a little money, the 2024 remains the better price-first alternative, while the 2026 makes sense if you’re comparing against a newer carryover and don’t mind paying more for it.
