Why it stands out
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid stands out because it adds a new hybrid model to an already strong Civic lineup, bringing more power and significantly improved fuel economy. That combination makes it especially appealing for buyers who want a compact car that is both efficient and more capable than before, while still keeping the Civic’s affordable and attractive character.
It also benefits from a slight styling refresh and new features, which help keep the car feeling current without changing its basic formula. The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid remains available in sedan or hatchback body styles, and its comfort and fuel efficiency are clear strengths. The main limitation is that all-wheel drive is not available.

Amazing comfort, lots of power and fun to drive. The bose sound system is mind blowing. The quiet hum of the electric motor was a nice break from all the noisy gas motors I was used to. The only issue I have so far is the wireless charger makes my phone run hot and it is not a fast charge.

How much does the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $28,516 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,130 |
| Year-Round High | $29,337 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,343 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.82% |
Prices have softened 2.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,173 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.
It stands out because it adds a new hybrid model to an already strong Civic lineup, bringing more power and significantly improved fuel economy. That makes it especially appealing if you want a compact car that feels more capable than before while still staying affordable and attractive. The cabin also remains one of the nicer ones in the class, and the hybrid is tuned for comfort rather than sporty cornering.
The main trade-off is that all-wheel drive is not available, and the hybrid’s pricing sits above the non-hybrid Civic trims. Even so, 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Civic Hybrid is described as smooth, quiet, and more responsive than you might expect from a compact hybrid. Its power delivery is immediate off the line, the transition between electric and gasoline power is nearly seamless, and the ride is tuned for comfort. Honda also notes that the hybrid system should return 36% more miles to the gallon than the outgoing setup, which supports lower day-to-day operating stress.
The cost-effectiveness analysis also points to a meaningful ownership advantage if you keep the car long enough, since the hybrid’s fuel savings can offset its higher purchase price over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is mostly financial rather than mechanical: you’ll want to make sure the car’s condition and maintenance history justify paying hybrid-model prices.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a proper inspection. Focus on overall condition, especially signs of wear in the cabin and any evidence of prior bodywork or uneven panel fit. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices.

- Trim level: The cabin is already one of the nicest in the class, but higher trims add a digital instrument panel and a more upscale feel. The base setup is simpler, while the top trim brings more tech and convenience.
- Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. It is tuned for smooth, quiet driving and is expected to deliver 36% better fuel economy than the previous setup.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top trim adds parking-related braking and sensors.
- Infotainment: The base setup includes a seven-inch touchscreen, HondaLink app support, a four-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Higher trims add a larger nine-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, wireless phone integration, a wireless charging pad, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
- Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is estimated to achieve 49 mpg in combined driving, while the non-hybrid LX and Sport are estimated at 36 mpg and 35 mpg combined, respectively.
Which 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.
Here's the short version:
- Sport Hybrid: This is the better-value choice if you want the hybrid powertrain, a sunroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control without stretching to the top trim. It gives you the core efficiency and comfort upgrades that make the hybrid appealing in the first place.
- Sport Touring Hybrid: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete version of the car, with the biggest tech and luxury upgrades. It adds the most premium equipment and is the best fit if you plan to keep the car for a long time and want the fullest feature set.
The top trim also brings the most advanced infotainment and convenience features, while the Sport trim is the smarter value for most shoppers.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,173 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.82% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 85.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,130, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $28,516 sits slightly below last year's $29,343.
That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the current trend means resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and trim choice than it would be in a hotter market. If you buy well and keep the car in strong shape, you should be better positioned to recover value later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid safe?
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid earns five-star ratings in overall, side, and rollover protection, and four-star ratings for frontal collisions from NHTSA. It also earned a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard advanced safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top trim extends automatic braking to parking lot speeds and adds parking proximity sensors and rain-sensing wipers.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.82% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2025 model brings a new hybrid powertrain, a slight styling refresh, and new features that make the Civic feel more current.
The bottom line: If you want the newest hybrid Civic with stronger power, better efficiency, and a refreshed feature set, the 2025 is the one to target. If you’re mainly focused on price, you may want to compare nearby model years and shop for the best-condition example with the strongest discount.
