Why it stands out
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid stands out because it adds a new hybrid model to an already strong Civic lineup, bringing more power and significantly improved fuel economy. That combination makes it especially appealing for buyers who want a compact car that is both efficient and more capable than before, while still keeping the Civic’s affordable and attractive character.
It also benefits from a slight styling refresh and new features, which help keep the car feeling current without changing its basic formula. The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid remains available in sedan or hatchback body styles, and its comfort and fuel efficiency are clear strengths. The main limitation is that all-wheel drive is not available.

Amazing comfort, lots of power and fun to drive. The bose sound system is mind blowing. The quiet hum of the electric motor was a nice break from all the noisy gas motors I was used to. The only issue I have so far is the wireless charger makes my phone run hot and it is not a fast charge.

How much does the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $28,494 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,129 |
| Year-Round High | $29,494 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,501 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.41% |
Prices have softened 3.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,138 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.
It fits buyers who want a compact car that feels more capable than before while still staying efficient and affordable. The hybrid setup adds more power and significantly improved fuel economy, and the car also benefits from a slight styling refresh and new features that help it feel current.
The main trade-off is that all-wheel drive is not available, so if that matters to you, this model may not fit your needs. Even so, the market looks healthy, with 24.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is described as smooth, quiet, and more responsive than the gas version, which points to a powertrain that should feel easy to live with day to day. Its comfort-focused suspension and seamless transition between electric and gasoline power also support a low-stress ownership experience.
Honda also emphasizes improved fuel economy and a more refined driving feel, which are both good signs for durability-minded shoppers. If you plan to keep the car for years, the main ownership risk to watch is whether the hybrid system and its added complexity have been maintained properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a hybrid where you want confidence in the powertrain and electronics. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s features and driver-assistance systems operate as expected.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The cabin is already one of the nicest in the class, but higher trims add a digital instrument panel and a more high-tech feel. The base trim is more basic in back, where there are no air vents or charge ports.
- Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque, and it is expected to return 36% more miles to the gallon.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top Touring trim adds parking-speed automatic braking, parking proximity sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
- Infotainment: The base LX includes a seven-inch touchscreen, HondaLink app support, a four-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The top Touring trim adds a nine-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, wireless phone integration, and a wireless charging pad.
- Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is estimated to achieve 49 mpg in combined driving, while the non-hybrid LX is estimated at 36 mpg combined and the Sport at 35 mpg combined.
Which 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.
Here's the short version:
- Sport Hybrid: This is the better-value choice if you want the hybrid powertrain without stretching to the top trim. It adds a sunroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control on top of the supporting Sport equipment.
- Sport Touring Hybrid: This is the pick if you want the most features and the most upscale tech. It adds the strongest equipment list in the lineup, including the most advanced infotainment and luxury touches.
The safety package is strongest on the higher trims, with the Sport adding blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts, and the Touring adding parking-focused safety upgrades.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to make a good purchase possible.
- Deal availability: 24.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,138 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.41% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,129, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $28,494 sits slightly below last year's $29,501.
That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle, but it also means future sellers may face a bit less upside than they would have a year ago. Even so, the model’s strong efficiency and broad appeal should help keep demand steady.
Because the market has already adjusted downward, a well-kept example bought near the low end of the range could hold up better over time than one purchased at the top. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid safe?
The 2025 Honda Civic sedan earns five-star ratings in overall, side, and rollover protection, and four-star ratings for frontal collisions from NHTSA. It also earned a Top Safety Pick from IIHS.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard advanced safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top Touring trim adds parking-speed automatic braking, parking proximity sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 24.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.41% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The debut of the new Hybrid model brings more power and significantly improved fuel economy, along with a slight styling refresh and new features.
The bottom line: The 2025 model is the better choice if you want the new hybrid powertrain, stronger efficiency, and a refreshed Civic with current features. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to shop carefully for a lower-priced listing, since the market has softened and there are still plenty of cars to compare.
