How much does the 2025 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have softened 9.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,214 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2025 Ford Mustang. The overview shows a car that keeps the classic Mustang formula intact while giving you a wide spread of performance choices, including a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and multiple engine and transmission combinations. That makes it appealing if you want a recognizable performance car with enough variety to match different driving priorities. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a familiar Mustang setup with a broad trim and powertrain spread, which can be reassuring if you want a well-established formula rather than something experimental. It also notes reported issues for the 2024 and 2025 model years, including powertrain vibrations, inconsistent interior build quality, limited-slip differential problems, and electronic stability control concerns. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth taking seriously, especially if you plan to keep the car for years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car has a clean service record, especially if it has been driven hard or modified. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain, differential behavior, interior fit and finish, and any warning lights or electronic quirks. Because the model year has reported issues tied to vibrations and stability-control concerns, a careful test drive and pre-purchase inspection matter more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,315, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $42,402 sits slightly below last year's $46,786.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if depreciation continues at the same pace. If you buy well today, you may reduce your downside later by starting from a lower purchase price. Strong condition and clean history should matter a lot when you eventually sell, because shoppers in this segment tend to reward well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,014, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $42,402 average.
• It offers strong performance with a more value-focused appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model year with a broad mix of trims, engines, and a healthy share of clean listings, the 2025 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2024 is the smarter secondary path because it undercuts the current year’s average price while still delivering the Mustang experience.
