How much does the 2025 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have softened 7.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,092 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2025 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2025 Mustang keeps the classic Mustang formula intact while offering a wide spread of performance choices. It remains a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe or convertible, with multiple engine and transmission paths that let you tailor the car to your priorities. That makes it a strong fit if you want a recognizable performance car with broad trim and powertrain variety. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Mustang’s overview points to a familiar layout and a broad range of powertrain choices, which can help you shop for the version that best fits your needs. It also notes reported issues for the 2024 and 2025 model years, including powertrain vibrations, inconsistent interior build quality, limited-slip differential concerns, and electronic stability control issues. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth managing with careful inspection and a strong service-history review.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s past matches the listing details. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-performance trim or a car with modifications. Focus on overall condition, build quality, and any signs of drivetrain or electronic issues during your test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Mustang?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,092 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,199, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $42,199 sits slightly below last year's $45,388.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also temper near-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your eventual return will depend heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the Mustang name remains a strong market draw.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,115, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $42,199 average.
• It offers a more budget-friendly path to the same Mustang formula with strong performance and good handling.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the broader current-market inventory and are comfortable paying more for the newer model year. If price matters most, the 2024 is the better value play because it delivers the Mustang experience at a lower average cost.
