How much does the 2023 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices are up 6.61% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,747 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — 5/5. Owners consistently praise its performance, aesthetics, and value, and many also highlight the driving experience, the sound system, and the convertible feature. The 2023 Mustang fits well if you want a modern take on an iconic sports car with broad appeal, while some shoppers may still wish for more luxury features. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people enjoy living with, especially when it comes to performance and overall satisfaction. Reliability-minded shoppers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since used sports cars can vary widely in how they were driven and cared for. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is buying a neglected example rather than a well-kept one.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the car’s condition and maintenance records. Pay close attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred upkeep, since those issues can matter more than mileage alone. If you are considering an EcoBoost model, make sure the car has been carefully maintained and drives cleanly under load.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,747 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.61% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 85.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,725, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $31,808 sits slightly above last year's $29,837.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. A car that holds demand while staying in a broad price band is usually easier to resell later, especially when shoppers still see value in the nameplate. Strong listing volume also helps because it gives future buyers more chances to compare and shop your car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.61% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,115, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $31,808 average.
• It adds a more modern cabin and updated technology.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2023 if you want a strong mix of value, satisfaction, and available inventory. If you are price-sensitive, the 2023 is the easier buy because it sits well below the 2024’s average price while still offering broad market choice. If you want the newer interior and tech upgrades, the 2024 is the better path, but you will pay more for it.
