How much does the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty cost?

Prices have softened 16.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,277 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for a heavy-duty truck.

Is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty a good car?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty earns an expert rating of 7.33/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It is described as a versatile and capable workhorse that can haul impressive loads while also offering an abundance of luxury, comfort, and technology. That makes it a strong fit if you want a truck that can be tailored to different budgets and uses, especially when towing and hauling are central to your needs.

The main trade-offs are that the price climbs quickly with options and many safety features are not standard. The good news is that the lineup still gives you supporting trims that are much more affordable and utilitarian.

32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty reliable?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty is presented as a rock-solid, body-on-frame heavy-duty truck, and its construction is described as appropriately sturdy for the job. The powertrain lineup is broad, with multiple gas and diesel options, and the truck’s towing-focused hardware is built around demanding use.

Its performance content also points to a truck that is engineered for serious work, with a 10-speed automatic transmission, strong towing ratings, and off-road hardware available on the Tremor package. The cost-effectiveness content adds that heavy-duty trucks are exempt from fuel-economy reporting, but the truck averaged around 15 mpg in mixed driving without load or towing.

If you plan to keep one long term, the biggest ownership risk is that this is still a large, complex, and expensive truck to buy and equip, so maintenance and repair costs can add up if you choose a heavily optioned version.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the truck’s equipment matches the trim and option package you expect. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a heavy-duty truck like this, since condition can vary a lot depending on whether it was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving.

Pay close attention to wear on the suspension, brakes, tires, and interior controls, and make sure any advanced towing or driver-assistance features work as intended. If the truck has been used hard, those details matter more than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim starts with analog gauges and an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims add a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument panel. The Platinum trim brings much richer materials, including quilted leather and upscale trim, so the gap between work-focused and luxury-oriented versions is substantial.
• Powertrain: You can choose from four powertrain options, including a 6.8-liter V8 gas engine, a 7.3-liter gasoline V8, and two diesel options. The high-output diesel makes 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft, while the base gas engine makes 405 hp and 445 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking is standard on the XLT trim. The Lariat adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and rain-sensing wipers. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display are standard on the King Ranch trim and above.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument panel, while lower trims start with an 8-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard and wireless throughout the lineup, and the wireless charging pad is reserved for higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Heavy-duty trucks are exempt from fuel-economy estimates, but the truck averaged around 15 mpg in mixed street and highway driving without load or towing.

Which 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the F-250’s core capability without paying for luxury or advanced convenience features. It is also the only trim that does not come standard with four-wheel drive.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking while staying well below the luxury end of the lineup.
• Lariat: This is the smart step-up if you want a more complete safety and convenience package, since it adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and rain-sensing wipers.
• King Ranch: This is the right choice if you want more comfort and driver-assistance equipment, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display as standard.
• Platinum: This is the luxury pick, with the richest materials and the most upscale presentation, and it suits you best if you want the F-250 to feel as premium as possible.

Other safety features are limited to the option list and higher trim levels, so trim choice matters a lot here.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,277 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.02% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $64,719, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $64,719 sits slightly below last year's $77,069.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more truck for the money today. For a future seller, though, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the truck was equipped from the start.

Because the F-250 is a high-cost, high-capability truck, well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than stripped or heavily worn ones. If you buy carefully now, you improve your odds of getting a stronger return later.

Is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty safe?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty does not have crash-test results from either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard trailer sway damping helps keep a trailer stable, and the integrated trailer brake controller is also standard. Beyond that, many safety features are limited to the option list and higher trim levels, with forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking on the XLT, more advanced camera and monitoring features on the Lariat, and adaptive cruise control plus lane-keep assist on the King Ranch and above.

Ford’s Blue Cruise hands-free highway driving system is not offered on Super Duty trucks, and the truck’s tall ride height also makes rollover risk a consideration.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.02% compared with last year.
• The 2025 stands out for its unmatched towing strength and broad configuration range, making it especially appealing if capability is your top priority.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest towing-focused package and you’re shopping in a market with softer prices, the 2025 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive and don’t need this much capability, a different year or a less heavy-duty alternative may make more sense.
