Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns an expert rating of 7.8/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It stands out as a compact crossover that blends everyday usefulness with a more adventurous mission than most rivals. The 2025 updates add new option packages aimed at increasing off-road capability, along with tech, styling, and interior changes, so you get a small SUV with a clear identity.

The trade-offs are clear too: excessive touchscreen controls and mediocre fuel economy.

With 35.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is presented as a good all-around crossover with a strong focus on off-road capability and everyday versatility.

Its performance setup is built around a standard all-wheel-drive system, and the dual-clutch rear-drive unit is used to help send power where traction is available. That gives you a more capable mechanical foundation than many small crossovers, especially if you plan to use it beyond pavement.

Ford also includes a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps support long-term ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Bronco Sport’s more specialized hardware and feature-heavy setup may matter more if you want simple, low-cost ownership than if you want trail capability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has been used for off-road driving or fitted with off-road packages. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and signs that the vehicle’s rugged equipment has been used hard rather than just lightly explored.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Bronco Sport’s styling goes in a completely different direction from the Escape, and the newly available off-road packages add modular steel front and rear bumpers, accessory mounting points, cast D-rings, a removable nudge bar, and underbody protection. The base setup is more functional than flashy, while the higher-spec off-road versions add the most visible hardware.
• Powertrain: Most trim levels use a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, while Badlands models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. All versions use an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and the 2.0-liter models add manual-shifting capability.
• Safety package: Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system uses Ford Sync 4, and the larger screen and digital cluster are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 27 mpg combined, 25 mpg city, and 30 mpg highway. The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined, 21 mpg city, and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage, Free Wheeling.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the Bronco Sport’s core personality without paying for the more specialized hardware. It also serves as the starting point for the Black Diamond off-road package, so it can be built up if you want more capability later.
• Outer Banks: This trim is the better fit if you want a more upscale-feeling Bronco Sport and are interested in the available Sasquatch Package. It adds a stronger mix of style and capability than the base setup, and it’s a good middle ground for buyers who want more than the essentials.
• Badlands: This is the best-value choice if you want the most serious off-road hardware. It gets the 2.0-liter engine, and with the Sasquatch Package it adds Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, an upgraded cooling fan, and an auxiliary oil cooler.
• Heritage: This trim is for you if styling matters more than maximum trail hardware. It’s one of the design-focused trims mentioned for 2025, so it suits buyers who want a more distinctive look.
• Free Wheeling: This is another design-focused choice, aimed at shoppers who want a more expressive appearance rather than the most rugged setup.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on the Outer Banks and standard on the Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,373 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,748, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?

The current average of $27,748 sits slightly below last year's $32,606.

That price movement suggests the Bronco Sport has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a lower cost than a year ago. For a future seller, that also means you should expect pricing pressure if the market stays soft.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, the Bronco Sport’s distinctive identity and off-road appeal should still help it stand out. But the recent decline means you should be realistic about how quickly value may continue to move.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport safe?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash-test ratings and a four-star rollover crash-test rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 safety kit suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on the Outer Banks and standard on the Badlands.

IIHS testing was still partial at press time, but the Bronco Sport had top “Good” scores in the small overlap front test, original moderate overlap front test, and original side-impact test, plus an “Acceptable” rating in the updated side-impact test. It also received a “Good” headlight rating.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.90% compared with last year.
• Ford doubles down on the Bronco Sport’s off-road identity for 2025 with new option packages, tech updates, and interior changes.

The bottom line: If you want the most current Bronco Sport with the latest tech and off-road-oriented updates, the 2025 is the right path. If your priority is simply getting into a Bronco Sport at the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 gives you the freshest feature set and a softer market than last year.
