Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, along with strong engines, which helps it appeal to you if you want something more engaging than a typical luxury cruiser without giving up refinement. It also benefits from excellent rear passenger room, making it feel more practical than many cars in its class.

Its appeal is also tied to the breadth of equipment and the sense of occasion it brings. The interior is described as brimming with tech, and the car offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, in-car gaming, a standard head-up display, quad-zone climate control, USB-C charge ports, front seat massagers, a panoramic glass roof, and an available 31-inch theater screen with 5G connectivity and built-in Amazon Fire TV. BMW also offers a leather-free configuration, while the M Sport package adds uprated brakes and sports styling features. On the downside, expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle are worth keeping in mind, so the 2025 BMW 8 Series is best suited to you if you value performance and luxury enough to accept those tradeoffs.

32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series is presented as a polished, high-tech luxury grand tourer with strong performance, a comfortable but sporty ride, and excellent rear passenger room. Those traits point to a car that is built to deliver a premium driving experience with everyday usability.

At the same time, the combination of expensive options and high depreciation means long-term ownership risk is something you should weigh carefully as a used buyer.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car's equipment and service records match the listing. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, electronics, and any signs of wear that could be costly to address on a luxury grand tourer.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

This looks like a moderate market where you can be selective, but the best examples may still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 360 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,411, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $70,495 sits slightly below last year's $83,320.

That drop suggests the market has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, though, the same trend means you should expect resale value to remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and equipment. For a future seller, the strongest outcome will likely come from a well-kept example with desirable options and clean history.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.39% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 BMW 8 Series makes the most sense if you want the current-year balance of luxury, performance, and available inventory, especially now that prices have eased. If you're more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025 is the better starting point if you want strong equipment and a broad selection without paying peak-market pricing.
