How much does the 2025 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 13.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,011 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW 5 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 5 Series stands out as a midsize luxury sedan that blends strong performance with a lot of technology and a noticeably larger footprint than before. For you, that means a roomier cabin, a completely new design, and a lineup that includes gas-powered options as well as fully electric versions.

The tradeoff is that the car’s modern cabin tech can take time to learn, and some desirable driver-assistance features require extra-cost packages. The 5 Series makes the most sense if you want a tech-forward luxury sedan with broad powertrain choice and a more spacious feel than before.

34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 5 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 5 Series is presented as a well-equipped, modern luxury sedan with a strong emphasis on technology, comfort, and performance. Its larger cabin and updated design suggest a thoroughly reworked model year rather than a minor refresh.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a complex, feature-rich luxury sedan can be more expensive to maintain if you buy one that has been neglected or heavily optioned.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 5 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the car’s service records before you commit. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, driver-assistance features, and any signs of wear inside the cabin, since this model leans heavily on technology. Focus on overall condition and option content, because the right equipment package can matter as much as mileage on a luxury sedan like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 5 Series?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,011 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,560, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $48,586 sits slightly below last year's $55,900.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper near-term resale expectations if you plan to sell soon. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can still protect value, but the recent price movement shows this model is not appreciating in the used market. For a future seller, the key is to avoid overpaying now so you have less depreciation to absorb later.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.08% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,738, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $48,586 average.
• It emphasizes a smooth ride and quiet cabin.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It offers a more balanced mix of comfort, technology, and driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: If you want the newest body style and a broad mix of powertrain choices, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value play, especially if you want a refined luxury sedan and can live with the older model year.
