How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 10.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,357 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

With a 3.8/5 user rating and an expert score of 7.8/10, the 2025 Acura MDX looks like a strong fit if you want a polished three-row luxury SUV with straightforward controls and a comfort-first feel.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The MDX’s appeal centers on its stylish design, comfortable cabin, and easy-to-use technology, especially if you value intuitive controls over a more complicated interface. The trade-offs are that fuel economy is poor and the standard V6 is somewhat underwhelming, while the third row is cramped if you plan to use it often.

There are 34.2% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura MDX is presented as a refined, reliable-feeling luxury SUV with a strong emphasis on simple controls and everyday usability.

Its standard powertrain is described as tried-and-true, with good power for a midsize three-row SUV and smooth, predictable behavior in normal driving. Acura also says the refreshed model benefits from hardware upgrades that improve the accuracy and refinement of its driver-assistance systems, and the standard suite performed well in testing with only minor quirks. Acura also includes the first scheduled maintenance visit during the first year or 12,000 miles.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the MDX’s efficiency and standard V6 setup may feel limiting if you want lower running costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing higher-mileage examples or vehicles with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, tech operation, and whether the third row and cargo area fit your needs, since the MDX’s strengths are comfort and usability rather than maximum space.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with a nicely equipped base model, then adds Technology, A-Spec, Advance, and A-Spec Advance equipment. The base trim is the main place where you’ll notice feature gaps, while the A-Spec Advance adds maximum luxury with a sportier look.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 hp and is paired with a 10-speed automatic. SH-AWD is optional on the base and Technology trims, standard starting with A-Spec, and lower trims use front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with Technology, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa Built-in, Google Built-in, and standard AcuraLink connected services. The base model gets an 11-speaker sound system, while Technology and above get Bang & Olufsen audio.
• Fuel efficiency: This is not an efficient SUV, and the standard V6 is described as poor on fuel economy. The test vehicle averaged 18.4 mpg in mixed driving, and the A-Spec Advance is rated at 21 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: base, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, and Type S Advance.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value starting point if you want the MDX’s core strengths without stretching the budget. It’s already nicely equipped, and it’s the trim to consider if you mainly want the refreshed styling, the new infotainment system, and the standard AcuraWatch safety suite.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades, including front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking. It also brings the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio setup.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and standard SH-AWD. It adds more visual presence and is the first trim where all-wheel drive becomes standard.
• Advance: This is the comfort-focused pick if you want a more upscale cabin and more premium equipment. It builds on the MDX’s luxury side without going all the way to the top of the range.
• A-Spec Advance: This is the most luxurious non-Type S choice, blending the sportier appearance of A-Spec with the richer equipment of Advance. It suits you if you want maximum luxury with a more aggressive look.
• Type S Advance: This is the performance-oriented flagship, with the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, AcuraWatch 360, and the highest-end audio setup. It’s the one to choose if you want the most power and the most advanced driver-assistance package.

AcuraWatch 360 is available only on the Type S Advance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,357 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,320, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $47,320 sits slightly below last year's $53,070.

That price movement suggests the MDX has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help you buy at a better entry point. For a future seller, though, the softer market means you should expect less upside than last year’s pricing would have suggested. If you buy well now and keep mileage and condition in check, you’ll be in a better position to limit depreciation pain later.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the 2024 model earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with Technology, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking, while AcuraWatch 360 is exclusive to the Type S Advance.

One caveat is that the NHTSA rollover rating is not offered for SH-AWD versions, so that part of the safety picture is incomplete for those models.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.83% compared with last year.
• The refresh brings simpler controls, a better infotainment system, and a more polished cabin.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $41,201, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,320 average.
• It offers strong engines, sharp handling, and lots of standard features.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the refreshed formula with only minor updates.
• It remains comfortable, easy to use, and good value among midsize three-row rivals.

The bottom line: If you want the most refined version of the MDX’s refreshed formula, the 2025 is the one to target. If price matters more than the latest updates, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
