How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 11.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,361 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura MDX is a strong fit if you want a refined three-row luxury SUV that emphasizes comfort, usability, and everyday appeal, though it is not the best match if efficiency is a priority. It earns a 3.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort and reliability, especially for family commuting, and the review summary also points to its daily usability. The overview reinforces that it delivers stylish design, simple controls, intuitive technology, and enjoyable driving dynamics.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and a standard V6 that feels somewhat underwhelming. The cramped third row also limits its appeal if you need maximum passenger space.

With a 38.9% share of good and great deals, the market offers enough value opportunities to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura MDX is presented as a dependable, family-friendly luxury SUV with a reputation for comfort and reliability. Drivers describe it as reliable and well suited to family commuting, and the expert summary emphasizes that it is intended to be stylish, reliable, and safe.

The powertrain is described as good for everyday use and capable of smooth, confident driving, with the standard V6 delivering enough power for normal commuting and highway merging. The expert review also notes that Acura has improved the user experience and refined the vehicle for 2025.

Acura’s complimentary maintenance coverage now includes only the first scheduled visit during the first year or 12,000 miles, which is a modest ownership perk. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the MDX’s appeal is strongest when you value comfort and refinement more than low running costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on cabin condition, tech operation, and how the vehicle drives, since the MDX’s appeal depends heavily on refinement and usability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model is nicely equipped, but higher trims add more luxury and convenience. The A-Spec Advance blends maximum luxury with a sportier look, while the Type S Advance sits at the top with maximum acceleration and handling.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 hp and is paired with a 10-speed automatic. SH-AWD is optional on the base and Technology trims, standard starting with A-Spec, and lower trims use front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with Technology, you also get front and rear parking sensors plus low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Alexa Built-in and Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. AcuraLink connected services and an AT&T 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The review describes the MDX as not fuel-efficient, and the test vehicle averaged 18.4 mpg in mixed testing. The expert summary also calls out poor fuel economy.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: Base, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, Type S Advance.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the value play if you want the MDX’s core strengths without stretching the budget. It is nicely equipped, and it gives you the refreshed design, the new infotainment system, and the standard AcuraWatch safety suite.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and safety hardware, including front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking. It also brings the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio setup.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and standard SH-AWD. It adds more visual presence while keeping the MDX’s everyday usability intact.
• Advance: This trim is for you if comfort and luxury matter most. It adds more upscale equipment and benefits from the improved seating and refinement-focused updates.
• A-Spec Advance: This is the most style-forward luxury choice, combining the sportier appearance with the richer equipment of the Advance trim.
• Type S Advance: Pick this only if you want the most performance and the most advanced safety package. It is the top trim and includes AcuraWatch 360, but it is also the most expensive.

The standard AcuraWatch suite is on every trim, while AcuraWatch 360 is exclusive to the Type S Advance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,361 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,948, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $46,948 sits slightly below last year's $52,902.

That price movement suggests the MDX has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, it means you may face more competition if the market stays soft.

The upside is that the MDX still has strong appeal thanks to its comfort, technology, and luxury positioning. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain it well, you should be in a better position to protect value than a neglected example.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 Acura MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the 2024 model earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with the Technology trim, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking.

AcuraWatch 360 is exclusive to the Type S Advance and adds front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist. The expert review also notes that the standard system performed well overall, though it did produce one false lane-departure notification and struggled with a tricky intersection.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.
• It brings a refreshed cabin, a new infotainment system, and improved user experience.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $40,708, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $46,948 average.
• It adds a new Type-S trim and remains a well-rounded, comfortable luxury SUV.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It carries forward the refreshed formula with only minor updates.
• It keeps the same comfortable, reliable, on-road-focused character.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version with the best tech and a strong mix of comfort and value, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter bargain, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the same formula with minimal change.
