Used 2024 Volvo XC90 for Sale nearAurora, CO

How much does the 2024 Volvo XC90 cost?

Prices have softened 6.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,656 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volvo XC90 earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The XC90’s appeal starts with its design, which is described as timeless and beautiful inside and out. It also offers a range of powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid variant, and it is positioned as a comfortable family-oriented luxury SUV with strong safety credentials.

The trade-offs are that it shows its age in several ways and carries a steep price tag that can weaken its value proposition. Pilot Assist behavior is also a concern, so you should weigh the XC90’s style and comfort against those drawbacks.

33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The XC90 is presented as a vehicle that has aged well overall, with a strong emphasis on design, quality, and technology. Its powertrain lineup also reflects Volvo’s move toward electrification, which supports the sense that this model year is built around modernized engineering rather than a dated formula.

The performance notes point to a capable plug-in hybrid setup with strong output and useful electric-only driving range, while the cost-effectiveness discussion makes clear that the Recharge version is expensive relative to the rest of the lineup. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the XC90’s age and premium pricing may make repairs, upkeep, and value retention less forgiving than you’d want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC90?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage or heavily optioned example. Focus on overall condition, because the XC90’s premium features and aging platform make wear, electronics, and ride quality especially important to evaluate.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans B5, B6, and Recharge T8 model series, with Core, Plus, and Ultimate trim levels. The base setup is more straightforward, while higher trims add richer materials and more luxury equipment, including features like massaging front seats, a premium headliner, and upgraded audio on the test vehicle.
• Powertrain: The B5 uses a turbocharged mild-hybrid four-cylinder engine, the B6 adds a supercharger for extra performance, and the Recharge T8 plug-in hybrid delivers the most performance, the greatest efficiency, and 32 miles of estimated electric-only range.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist pairs adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist, and the XC90 also includes large-animal detection and a notification system that alerts you when traffic ahead starts moving again. Volvo does not offer a hands-free driving assistance system in this SUV.
• Infotainment: The XC90 uses a 9-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, Google Maps, Google Play, and Google Assistant. Apple CarPlay is standard, and the system includes over-the-air-style connected features through Volvo’s Google-based setup for four years before subscription payments are required.
• Fuel efficiency: The Recharge T8 is rated to average 27 mpg in combined driving, and Volvo says it can travel 32 miles on electricity alone before the gasoline engine starts.

Which 2024 Volvo XC90 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volvo XC90 is offered in 6 trim levels: B5 Core, B5 Plus, B5 Ultimate, B6 Core, B6 Plus, and B6 Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• B5 Core: This is the entry point if you want the XC90’s style, standard all-wheel drive, and mild-hybrid setup without paying for extra luxury features. It makes sense if you care most about getting into the model at the lowest price.
• B5 Plus: This is the best-value trim if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It should suit you if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• B5 Ultimate: Choose this if you want the richest cabin presentation and the most upscale feel in the B5 lineup. It is the trim to target if luxury touches matter more than value.
• B6 Core: This is the better pick if you want more power than the B5 but still want to stay relatively restrained on price. It adds the stronger supercharged-and-turbocharged powertrain while keeping the trim simple.
• B6 Plus: This is the sweet spot for buyers who want stronger performance and a more complete feature set. It is the trim most likely to make sense if you want the XC90’s upgraded power without going all the way to the top.
• B6 Ultimate: Pick this if you want the most premium version of the non-plug-in lineup. It is the right choice if you want the most upscale cabin and are willing to pay for it.

Volvo’s safety tech is not especially innovative for this model year, and Pilot Assist is a notable caution point across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo XC90?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,656 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,738, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volvo XC90's resale value?

The current average of $44,856 sits slightly below last year's $48,088.

That decline suggests the XC90 has become more accessible on the used market, which can help buyers now but may pressure future resale values if the trend continues. For a seller, that means pricing competitively will matter more than relying on brand prestige alone.

The model’s strong design appeal and premium positioning should still support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. But the softer pricing trend means you should expect buyers to be selective and value-conscious.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC90 safe?

The 2024 Volvo XC90 earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment except rollover resistance, where it earns a four-star rating. The XC90 was also a Top Safety Pick+ in 2023 from IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Volvo includes Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist, along with large-animal detection and a traffic-movement alert system. Those features cover the expected safety basics, but the XC90’s driver-assistance tech is not especially innovative for the model year, and Volvo does not offer a hands-free driving assistance system here.

Pilot Assist also showed some troubling behavior during testing, including confusion on curves, lane-marking issues, and one serious steering error while exiting the freeway. That caveat matters if you plan to rely on semi-autonomous driving support often.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It remains appealing for its timeless design and plug-in hybrid option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,933, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,856 average.
• It adds updated B5 and B6 mild-hybrid powertrains and modern infotainment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $51,104, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,856 average.
• It brings a second substantial refresh with updated styling, materials, and feature offerings.

The bottom line: If you want the XC90’s style and safety reputation at a softer price, the 2024 is the sensible middle ground. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play; if you want the newest updates, look to the 2025.
