An eight-speed automatic transmission routes power to standard all-wheel drive (AWD). The B5 returns fuel economy of 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The available T8 powertrain, designated "Recharge" in Volvo's parlance, is a plug-in hybrid setup.
