What is the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $18,646 sits slightly below last year's $20,020.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point, but it also suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation. If you plan to resell later, your best protection is buying well, keeping mileage reasonable, and choosing a clean example with strong documentation. A lower entry price can help offset future depreciation, especially if you avoid overpaying today.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $19,509, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,646 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $19,875, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $18,646 average.
• It adds more polish, technology, and a more upscale feel.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best primary path if you want the strongest mix of price, deal availability, and clean inventory. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 still looks like the sweet spot versus the nearby years, while the 2023 and 2025 make sense only if their specific strengths matter more to you than the current-year value.
