Used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 for Sale nearSyracuse, NY

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 cost?

Prices have softened 6.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,797 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated EV with an expert score of 7.5/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 is positioned as a more competitive and enjoyable electric SUV than before, with a new rear-drive motor, improved range, and a next-generation infotainment system. It also fits well if you want a comfortable ride and strong value for money.

The main trade-offs are the unimpressive electric range on the base model and the touch-sensing controls. If you want a polished, everyday electric SUV rather than something flashy, this year’s updates make the ID.4 easier to recommend.

Good and great deals account for 43.1% of listings, which is a solid sign that shoppers can still find attractive pricing.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 ID.4 is described as a better-sorted EV than before, with improved comfort, more power, and upgraded technology. It also benefits from standard advanced safety systems and a broad set of connected services, which can make day-to-day ownership feel more reassuring.

Volkswagen also includes two years or 20,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software features still match your expectations as the vehicle ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or battery configurations. Focus on overall condition, charging performance, and whether the tech and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes base, S, and S Plus trims, and the base model is the one most likely to feel light on range and equipment. The S and S Plus add more comfort and convenience features, while the Pro models bring the larger battery and more advanced infotainment setup.
• Powertrain: The 62-kWh models use the previous motor, while the Pro models get a more powerful rear electric motor. AWD Pro versions add a front motor for traction and stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: IQ.Drive is standard and includes Travel Assist and Emergency Assist, along with post-collision braking. The parking assist system is also available, including Memory Parking.
• Infotainment: Pro models get a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and an improved user experience. The system also supports over-the-air-style connected services through its subscription features.
• Range & charging: The standard 62-kWh battery can travel an EPA estimated 206 miles and recharge in 6.25 hours or less on a Level 2 home charger. The 82-kWh battery offers 291 miles with RWD or 263 miles with AWD, and Volkswagen says DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has been charged over time, and make sure the remaining battery warranty coverage still fits your ownership horizon. For a used EV, home charging history is generally easier on the battery than frequent DC fast charging.

Which 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 is offered in 3 trim levels: base, S, and S Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the least expensive way into the ID.4, but it’s also the trim most likely to leave you wanting more range and tech. It makes sense if your budget is tight and you mainly want the ID.4’s comfort and safety basics.
• S: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more of the features that make the ID.4 feel modern and easier to live with. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the trim to target.
• S Plus: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the standard lineup, including the available premium sound system and the most premium-feeling cabin presentation.

IQ.Drive is standard, so you get the core safety package across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4?

Yes — this looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 43.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,797 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,978, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4's resale value?

The current average of $22,983 sits slightly below last year's $24,486.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, which can put some pressure on resale if you sell soon. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help keep the ID.4 competitive with other used EVs, especially if the car is well equipped and in clean condition.

If you plan to sell later, the strongest resale candidates will likely be the better-equipped trims with the larger battery and the most desirable tech features. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 safe?

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 earns favorable ratings from NHTSA, and IIHS evaluations are incomplete but positive in the rated assessments.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive suite is standard and includes Travel Assist and Emergency Assist, along with post-collision braking. Travel Assist can help manage following distance and lane centering, while Emergency Assist can bring the vehicle to a controlled stop if the driver becomes unresponsive.

The main caveat is that IIHS testing is incomplete, so you should treat the safety picture as strong but not fully finalized.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 43.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 adds a more powerful rear-drive motor, nearly 300 miles of range, and a much improved infotainment system.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,126, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,983 average.
• It emphasizes affordability and a more mainstream EV value proposition.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded ID.4, the 2024 is the stronger pick thanks to its improved power, range, and technology. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 remains the more budget-friendly route.
