Used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 for Sale nearSioux Falls, SD

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 cost?

Prices have softened 4.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,769 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 looks like a strong pick if you want an electric SUV that feels more polished than before. The overview points to a more powerful rear-drive motor, nearly 300 miles of range, and a next-generation infotainment system, while the expert drive notes a comfortable ride and better overall performance.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The main trade-offs are the unimpressive electric range on the base model and the touch-sensing controls. If you want a mainstream EV that balances comfort, value, and everyday usability, this year’s ID.4 fits that brief well.

The market also looks supportive, with 45.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview and expert notes both point to a more refined and better-sorted ID.4 for 2024, with improved range, stronger performance, and upgraded technology that should make day-to-day ownership feel easier.

The performance notes also support that impression: the new rear electric motor brings more power, quicker acceleration, and better highway merging confidence. On the ownership side, Volkswagen includes two years or 20,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance, which helps soften early running costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software-related features are working as intended before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong clean-history rate, you should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the charging system, infotainment, and driver-assistance features all work properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on battery health, charging performance, and any signs of uneven wear or prior bodywork.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes base, S, and S Plus trims, and the higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The base model is the one most likely to feel light on range and features, so you should compare it carefully against the better-equipped versions.
• Powertrain: The Pro models use a more powerful rear electric motor with 282 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque, while AWD Pro models add a front motor for 335 horsepower and quicker acceleration. The smaller-battery models keep the older motor with 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: IQ.Drive is standard and includes Travel Assist and Emergency Assist, along with post-collision braking. The safety content also notes semi-autonomous parking assist with Memory Parking.
• Infotainment: Pro models get a 12.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and an improved user interface. The system also supports over-the-air-style convenience through connected services and includes battery preconditioning for route-based charging.
• Range & charging: EPA range is 291 miles for the Pro RWD model, 263 miles for Pro AWD, and 206 miles for the smaller-battery version. The usable battery sizes are 82 kWh and 62 kWh, and DC fast charging can take about 30 minutes from 10% to 80%.
• Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information if available, confirm normal home-charging and DC fast-charging behavior, and check how much of the battery warranty remains. For a used EV, that matters as much as cosmetic condition.

Which 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 is offered in 3 trim levels: base, S, S Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, and it makes the ID.4 the most affordable way into the lineup. It suits you if you want the lowest purchase price and can live with the simpler setup.
• S: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more of the comfort and convenience upgrades that make the 2024 model feel better sorted.
• S Plus: This is the most feature-rich trim, and it makes the most sense if you want the most upscale ID.4 experience, including the available premium audio setup.

The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get core driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4?

Yes — this looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you are shopping for a used ID.4.

• Deal availability: 45.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,769 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,131, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4's resale value?

The current average of $23,468 sits slightly below last year's $24,584.

That price movement suggests the market has become a bit softer, which can work against sellers who are trying to maximize return. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle quickly.

At the same time, the ID.4’s stronger value proposition, improved technology, and broad appeal as an electric SUV should help it stay relevant with shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 safe?

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 earns favorable ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and IIHS evaluations are incomplete, though the rated assessments are strong.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive suite is standard and includes Travel Assist and Emergency Assist, along with post-collision braking. Travel Assist handles following distance and lane centering, while Emergency Assist can bring the vehicle to a controlled stop if the driver becomes unresponsive.

One caveat is that IIHS testing is incomplete, so you should treat the available safety picture as strong but not fully finished.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 45.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 update brings a more powerful rear-drive motor, improved range, and a better infotainment system.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,692, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $23,468 average.
• It emphasizes affordability and a broader push to make the ID.4 more accessible.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded ID.4, the 2024 is the smarter pick because it adds power, range, and technology improvements that make daily driving easier to live with. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 remains the value-oriented alternative.
