Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearSanta Fe, NM

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 2.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,569 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 from owners, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Tacoma is a ground-up redesign that starts the truck’s fourth generation, and it brings a new platform, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and a more modern tech setup. It still leans into the Tacoma formula: durability, off-road capability, and standard driver-assistance tech.

The trade-offs are clear, though. The cabin can be noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and the interior remains more functional than upscale even in the top trim.

For you, that means the Tacoma makes the most sense if you want a midsize truck that prioritizes capability and long-term usefulness over refinement. 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tacoma’s reputation for reliability remains a major part of its appeal, and the new generation keeps that identity intact while updating the truck’s mechanical foundation. The turbocharged four-cylinder setup is described as smooth-shifting with the automatic, and the new electric power steering is said to address the vagueness of the outgoing model.

Toyota also positions the truck with durability in mind, including standard advanced driver-assistance tech and a design that emphasizes function. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Tacoma’s core durability and more about living with a truck that can feel basic or noisy if you expect a more polished daily driver.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, confirm the truck’s service records, and inspect it closely for signs of hard use. Pay extra attention to cabin wear, seat operation, and any signs that the truck spent time doing the kind of work or trail driving that can accelerate wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR trim uses 17-inch steel wheels, while most trims move to 17-inch alloy wheels and TRD Sport and Limited get 18-inch alloys. The cabin stays function-first even in higher trims, and the Limited still emphasizes utility over luxury.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque on most trims, while the base SR is tuned to 228 hp and 243 lb-ft. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both available, and the eight-speed automatic is the main transmission, with a six-speed manual also offered.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, Proactive Driving Assist, road-sign assist, and an emergency stop system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, and higher trims get a 14-inch center display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a Qi wireless charging pad can be added.
• Fuel efficiency: The least-efficient version is expected to get 20 mpg combined, with the automatic and 4WD estimated at up to 21 mpg combined and FWD at 23 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Pre-Runner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it gives you the new Tacoma’s core mechanical upgrade at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the redesigned truck without paying for extras, but it also has the most obvious feature gaps.
• SR5: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability while staying below the more specialized trims. If you want a balanced Tacoma for commuting, hauling, and weekend use, this is the trim to start with.
• TRD Pre-Runner: This trim is for buyers who want a more rugged look and truck-focused character without moving into the off-road-oriented models. It keeps the Tacoma’s utility-first personality intact.
• TRD Sport: This trim adds a sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels, making it the better pick if you want a more road-focused feel and a sharper appearance.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the trim to choose if trail use matters most, since it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and is aimed at buyers who want the Tacoma’s off-road capability front and center.
• Limited: This is the most comfort-oriented gas trim, with heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats and an available adaptive variable suspension. It suits you best if you want the most upscale version of the gas lineup, even though the cabin still leans functional.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,569 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,846, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $38,174 sits slightly below last year's $39,247.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also suggests the truck is holding value reasonably well rather than dropping sharply. For a future seller, that kind of gradual movement is usually preferable to a steep decline because it points to steady demand.

The Tacoma’s reputation for reliability and its broad appeal among truck shoppers should continue to support used-market interest. If you keep mileage, condition, and trim desirability in mind, you should have a solid path to resale later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma still comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, Proactive Driving Assist, road-sign assist, and an emergency stop system.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package. That means you should pay close attention to trim choice if safety convenience matters to you.

Toyota’s expanded driver-assistance suite is a meaningful step forward for the Tacoma, especially because it brings more active lane support and added emergency intervention. The main caveat is that the base trim does not get the full standard safety package.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new platform, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $36,054, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,174 average.
• It has a smaller footprint that many shoppers find easier to live with.

The bottom line: If you want the newer Tacoma’s redesign, stronger tech, and updated safety features, the 2024 is the better long-term pick. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with the older truck’s more dated feel, the 2023 can still make sense as the value play.
