Summary
With 934 currently listed for sale and an average price of $60,743, 36.4% of 2024 Toyota Land Cruisers for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser stands out as an all-new return to the U.S. market, bringing back one of Toyota’s most recognizable nameplates after a brief absence. It is positioned as a midsize SUV and shares a platform with the Lexus GX, but Toyota has aimed to keep it firmly in its own segment. What makes it distinctive is the way it blends retro styling, strong off-road capability, and modern comfort and convenience with the heritage attached to the Land Cruiser name.
That combination gives the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser broad appeal for buyers who want a capable SUV with a more characterful design than many rivals. The test-drive data highlights impressive off-road ability and a comfortable ride, which are two of its clearest strengths. At the same time, it is not without tradeoffs: there is no option for a third row, and it is more expensive than competitors. Toyota’s reputation and the Land Cruiser badge add to the appeal, but the price may still feel ambitious given the changes to the model’s traditional formula.

The Land Cruiser lives up to all of my expectations, the interior was very comfortable, the instrumentation and obvious technology was impressive ; most impressive was the performance. The handling was comparable to Our Lexus RX450hL.

Very smooth ride. Gas mileage not horrible but not the 25mi as listed. I get about 21 on hwy if I “take it easy” on the gas pedal. I love the look. I put 20in wheels with large 285 tires. Looks Great!

| Year-Round High | $63,999 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $63,996 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.13% |
Prices have softened 5.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 933 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser a good car?
Yes — 5/5 from users and 7.67/10 from experts point to a strong overall case for you if you want a midsize SUV with character. The 2024 Land Cruiser is positioned as an all-new return to the U.S. market, and it blends retro styling, strong off-road capability, and modern comfort and convenience. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.
The main trade-offs are that there is no option for a third row and it is more expensive than competitors. That means it makes the most sense if you value capability, heritage, and a more distinctive design over maximum seating flexibility or bargain pricing.
36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The Land Cruiser’s appeal is reinforced by Toyota’s reputation, and the expert review emphasizes its durable, capability-first character along with a hybrid powertrain that pairs a turbocharged four-cylinder with electric assistance. The performance notes also highlight standard full-time 4WD, locking differentials, and low-range capability, all of which support its rugged mission.
The cost-effectiveness notes add that Toyota is offering plenty of support for customization through a broad accessory program, which can help you tailor the SUV to your needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for a vehicle whose appeal depends heavily on whether you’ll actually use its off-road hardware and heritage-driven formula.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific truck you’re considering has a clean maintenance and damage record. A pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile if the Land Cruiser has seen trail use, since its off-road hardware is a major part of the value proposition. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, underbody wear, and signs that the SUV has been used hard rather than just driven normally.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base 1958 trim uses cloth seats and the simpler 8-inch infotainment setup, while the middle trim upgrades to SofTex seating and a 10-speaker sound system. The First Edition adds real leather, unique trim-specific logos, and extra off-road gear like a roof rack, front skid plate, and mudflaps.
- Powertrain: The Land Cruiser uses Toyota’s i-Force MAX hybrid setup with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 1.87-kWh battery pack, and a 48-hp electric motor for 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, standard full-time 4WD, and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high and low range.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, road-sign assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim, while those features are standard on the First Edition.
- Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch center display and a six-speaker sound system. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two USB-C ports up front plus two in back; the Premium Package can add a head-up display and a digital rear-view mirror.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 23 mpg combined.
Which 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser trim should I buy?
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in 3 trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser, First Edition.
Here's the short version:
- 1958: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Land Cruiser’s core identity at the lowest price. You still get the hybrid powertrain, standard 4WD, locking differentials, heated front seats, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, but you give up some of the nicer cabin and tech upgrades found higher up. It makes sense if you want the Land Cruiser experience without paying for extras you may not need.
- Land Cruiser: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the more upscale middle-ground equipment, including SofTex seating, the rectangular headlight design, the 10-speaker sound system, and standard Multi-Terrain Monitor. It also gets the front sway-bar disconnect and other off-road upgrades that make the truck feel more complete.
- First Edition: This is the most fully equipped version, with real leather, unique trim-specific logos, a roof rack, front skid plate, mudflaps, the 14-speaker JBL premium sound system, and standard Premium Package content. It is the right pick if you want the most capability and equipment in one package.
The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim; those features are standard on the First Edition.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.
- Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 933 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.13% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 96.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $60,713, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser's resale value?
The current average of $60,713 sits slightly below last year's $63,996.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more carefully now and may also limit how much depreciation you absorb in the near term. Because the Land Cruiser is still a desirable nameplate with strong capability and broad appeal, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less distinctive SUVs. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in good condition, you should have a better shot at holding value than you would with a more ordinary competitor.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser safe?
The 2024 Land Cruiser has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
All 2024 Land Cruisers come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, road-sign assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. That means you get full-speed cruise control with stop-and-go capability as standard. The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim, while those features are standard on the First Edition.
Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.13% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It brings back the Land Cruiser name with retro styling, strong off-road ability, and modern comfort.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $62,134, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $60,713 average.
- It changes very little after the redesign.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and the truck already delivers the core Land Cruiser formula. If you’re shopping strictly on price, the 2024 gives you the stronger case; if you want the newer model year and don’t mind paying more, the 2025 is the secondary path.
