Used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander cost?

Prices have softened 6.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,892 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

It stands out as a bigger, more fuel-efficient three-row crossover for you if you need more room than a regular Highlander can provide. The appeal is especially strong if you want a family-focused SUV with extra space, good fuel efficiency, and multiple powertrain choices.

The main trade-offs are that it is not especially rewarding to drive and it has too many subscription-dependent tech features. Even so, the combination of space, efficiency, and Toyota’s reliability reputation gives it a clear identity.

33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Grand Highlander is described as a practical, well-built family SUV with Toyota’s reputation for reliability behind it. It also looks like it should hold up well over time, thanks to its solid interior materials and careful assembly.

Its powertrain lineup is broad, and the standard gas engine is presented as more than adequate for everyday use. That said, the vehicle is still relatively new, so your long-term ownership risk is mostly about how its newer tech and complex powertrain choices age over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple trims or powertrains. Focus on interior condition, tech functionality, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches what you expect from the trim level you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE uses Softex synthetic leather, while the Limited and Platinum upgrade to real leather. The XLE also gets heated front seats, but the Limited and Platinum add ventilation and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine, a 2.5-liter hybrid, or the Hybrid Max powertrain. The gas model is the volume seller, while the hybrid options prioritize efficiency and the Hybrid Max brings the strongest acceleration.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Adaptive cruise control also offers four following-distance settings.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-device Bluetooth connectivity. Some connected features, including the intelligent assistant and cloud-based navigation, depend on a subscription.
• Fuel efficiency: Gas-powered FWD models return 21 mpg city and 28 highway, while AWD gas models vary by trim. The hybrid powertrain is more efficient, with XLE trims delivering 36 mpg city and 32 highway, and the Hybrid Max returning 26 mpg city and 27 highway.

Which 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the best-value trim if you want the Grand Highlander’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get standard heated front seats, a 10-way power driver seat, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale daily driver. It adds leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the JBL audio system.
• Platinum: This is the top choice if you want the most premium version of the Grand Highlander, including the richest available cabin presentation and the most available equipment.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,892 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,792, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $43,792 sits slightly below last year's $46,690.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean a future seller has less room to command a premium. If you buy at a strong price now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.

The Grand Highlander’s broad appeal should help support demand, especially because it offers space, efficiency, and a strong family-friendly reputation. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander safe?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has yet to be crash-tested or rated by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every model and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The updated lane-departure alert can also identify three-dimensional objects like guard rails, and adaptive cruise control offers four following-distance settings.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a bigger, more fuel-efficient take on the Highlander nameplate, with two hybrid powertrains and a clear focus on family practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the Grand Highlander’s space, efficiency, and broad powertrain lineup, the 2024 is a strong choice and the current market gives you room to shop selectively. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-equipped listing in the condition you want.
