Used 2024 Subaru Solterra for Sale near Pennsylvania

How much does the 2024 Subaru Solterra cost?

Prices have softened 7.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 523 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Subaru Solterra a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Solterra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

The 2024 Solterra is Subaru’s updated electric SUV, and the changes are aimed at making it more credible and more appealing than before. The overview points to upgraded battery charging, refreshed standard safety features, and added comfort, convenience, and utility improvements. It also benefits from Subaru not raising prices as the model year began, which helps its value proposition.

The trade-offs are clear: the electric range remains unimpressive, power is underwhelming, and the lane assist system is dissatisfying. Even so, the Solterra’s stylish design, comfortable character, and strong safety ratings make it a sensible fit if you want an EV with familiar Subaru traits.

Only 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2024 Subaru Solterra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Solterra is presented as a more credible EV than before, with Subaru updating charging and standard safety content while keeping the cabin comfortable and practical. The expert notes also describe it as structurally sound on the road, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

The performance notes suggest the Solterra is efficient enough for a dual-motor AWD EV, but its limited range and slower-than-ideal charging can affect ownership convenience. Subaru also says charging improved for 2024, and the cost-effectiveness notes point out that home charging overnight is the easiest way to make the most of it.

If you buy used, the main long-term risk is not mechanical drama so much as living with modest range and charging speed compared with newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Solterra?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on battery condition, charging behavior, tire wear, and whether the driver-assistance systems operate as expected on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium, Limited, and Touring are the trims mentioned for this model year. The Premium is the most affordable entry point, while the Limited and Touring add more upscale equipment. The base trim uses an 8-inch touchscreen, while the higher trims move to a 12.3-inch display and add more convenience features.
• Powertrain: Every Solterra uses a dual-motor AWD setup with 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. Output is modest, so you should buy it for traction and smooth EV response rather than strong acceleration.
• Safety package: EyeSight is the driver-assistance suite, and it includes front cross-traffic alert, proactive driving assist, hands-free driving at speeds under 25 mph, active lane-change assist, DriverFocus monitoring, intersection collision avoidance, emergency steering assist, emergency stop assist, and a traffic-ahead-moving notification. Some of the more advanced features are part of the broader package rather than trim-specific add-ons.
• Infotainment: Premium gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Limited and Touring upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen, plus a surround-view camera, wireless smartphone charging, and an 11-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
• Range & charging: Premium is rated at 227 miles of range, while Limited and Touring are rated at 222 miles. The battery is 72.8 kWh, and Subaru says charging improved for 2024. In testing, a 150-kW DC fast charger delivered a slower-than-expected charge rate, so you should verify real-world charging behavior before you buy.
• Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information if it’s available, and pay attention to how the car has been charged. A used EV that has mostly seen home charging is often easier to live with than one that has spent a lot of time on DC fast chargers. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have.

Which 2024 Subaru Solterra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Solterra is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Limited, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want the Solterra’s core EV experience without paying for extras you may not need. It gives you the standard dual-motor AWD setup, the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration, and the full EyeSight safety suite.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot if you want the most useful upgrades for daily life. You get the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, surround-view camera, wireless charging, and the premium audio system, which make the cabin feel more upscale and easier to live with.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped Solterra and are willing to pay for it. It builds on the Limited’s equipment and is the top trim in the lineup.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Solterra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price movement to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 523 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,686, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Solterra's resale value?

The current average of $25,580 sits slightly below last year's $27,733.

That price movement suggests the Solterra has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, the softer market means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The upside is that the model’s updated charging, safety, and comfort improvements help it feel more relevant than before. If buyer interest stays steady, that should support resale better than a version with weaker equipment or less appealing features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Subaru Solterra safe?

The 2024 Subaru Solterra earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

EyeSight is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes front cross-traffic alert, proactive driving assist, hands-free driving under 25 mph, active lane-change assist, DriverFocus monitoring, intersection collision avoidance, emergency steering assist, emergency stop assist, and a traffic-ahead-moving notification. That’s a broad standard safety package, though the expert notes say the lane-centering assist can struggle in some curves and the execution needs improvement.

The safety writeup also points to a few usability caveats: the driver-assist icons are tightly grouped, the display can be distracting, and the lane-centering system can disengage without a clear message. Those issues don’t erase the strong crash-test results, but they do matter if you rely heavily on driver assistance.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Solterra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Subaru updated charging, standard safety features, and comfort/convenience equipment for this model year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,998, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,580 average.
• It introduced Subaru’s first all-electric model with symmetrical all-wheel drive and a practical, familiar feel.

The bottom line: if you want the more refined and better-equipped Solterra, the 2024 is the better pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the value play, especially if you can find one in strong condition and don’t mind giving up the 2024 updates.
