How much does the 2024 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 7.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,379 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Forester earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview emphasizes practicality, visibility, standard all-wheel drive, and a spacious interior, so you get a compact SUV that is built around everyday usefulness rather than flash. It is especially well suited if you want an easy-to-live-with family vehicle with strong all-weather confidence and useful cargo space. With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview highlights Subaru’s reputation for reliability and value, along with standard all-wheel drive and a practical, durable setup. That combination makes the Forester feel like a sensible choice if you want a vehicle that is built for steady daily use and bad-weather confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and has not been worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report so you can confirm the listing’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. Put a pre-purchase inspection near the top of your checklist, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, including interior wear, tire condition, brake feel, and how smoothly the CVT and all-wheel-drive system behave on a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,379 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,759, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $28,759 sits slightly below last year's $31,032.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also temper short-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your return will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle is documented. A clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more when it comes time to attract the next buyer.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,871, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,759 average.
• It keeps the Forester’s practical, all-weather focus with useful everyday space.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,270, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,759 average.
• It adds more advanced tech and a quieter cabin.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want a strong mix of value, satisfaction, and available inventory. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 is the smarter budget path; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the upgrade to compare.
