Used 2024 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearFarmington, NM

How much does the 2024 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 7.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,590 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Sentra a good car?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is a qualified yes if you want a value-focused compact sedan with a comfortable ride and updated styling, but you should weigh its compromises carefully. It earns a 3.67/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Its refreshed design gives it a more current appearance, and the overall package is aimed at buyers who want an honest compact sedan without paying for extras they may not need. The trade-offs are clear, though: the back seat is cramped, the technology feels outdated, and the safety results are mixed.

The Sentra’s 36.9% good-or-great deal rate suggests there are still worthwhile values in the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Nissan Sentra reliable?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra leans on a simple, mainstream mechanical setup that should make it easy to live with, especially if you value straightforward ownership over complexity. It uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission, and Nissan says the updated CVT is reengineered to improve fuel efficiency while operating more smoothly.

That efficiency-focused setup is paired with an engine start-stop system for 2024, which supports the car’s economy-first mission. The Sentra’s warranty coverage is comparable to other Japanese brands, which helps reduce near-term ownership risk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a compact sedan with modest performance and a value-oriented build, so condition and maintenance history matter more than chasing a premium-feeling ownership experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Sentra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how well the car was maintained or repaired. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission behavior, interior wear, and any signs that the car has been used heavily in city driving. Since the Sentra is value-oriented, condition can vary a lot from one listing to the next.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, and SR grades, with the base S getting 16-inch steel wheels, the SV adding 16-inch alloy wheels, and the SR bringing 18-inch wheels plus model-specific styling elements. The base trim is the most stripped-down, while the SV adds more everyday comfort and convenience, and the SR is the most distinctive-looking.
• Powertrain: The 2024 Sentra uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque, front-wheel drive, and a CVT. Nissan says the updated transmission and engine start-stop system are aimed at better fuel efficiency.
• Safety package: Standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes forward collision warning, front and rear automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. SV and SR models add adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera is available with the Premium Package.
• Infotainment: The S gets a 7-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch instrument display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a single front USB port, and a four-speaker audio system. SV and SR models upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch instrument display, a six-speaker audio system, SiriusXM compatibility, a front USB-C port, and a charge-only USB-A port; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: Sentra S and SV models are rated at 34 mpg combined, 30 mpg city, and 40 mpg highway. SR models are rated at 33 mpg combined, 30 mpg city, and 37 mpg highway.

Which 2024 Nissan Sentra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the least expensive way into the Sentra, but it is also the most basic. You get the smaller 7-inch touchscreen, the smaller instrument display, steel wheels, and the standard safety suite, so it makes sense if your priority is keeping the purchase price low.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds alloy wheels, the larger screens, a better audio setup, SiriusXM compatibility, and available leather upholstery and a moonroof. It gives you the most useful upgrades without pushing you all the way to the top trim.
• SR: Choose this if you want the most distinctive styling and the most upscale appearance in the lineup. It adds 18-inch wheels, model-specific exterior details, and red-orange accent stitching inside, and it can be paired with the black roof and vibrant paint colors.

SV and SR models also add adaptive cruise control, while the 360-degree camera remains part of the Premium Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,590 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,140, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $18,140 sits slightly below last year's $19,590.

That decline suggests the Sentra is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can help you buy at a better entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum.

Because the model is positioned as a value-oriented compact sedan, well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones. If you buy carefully now, you improve your odds of getting a stronger return later.

Is the 2024 Nissan Sentra safe?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra received a Good rating in the IIHS original side-impact crash test, an Acceptable rating in the updated side-impact test, a Basic rating in nighttime front crash prevention, an Advanced rating in daytime front crash prevention, and a Poor headlight rating. NHTSA gave it five-star ratings in rollover and side crash tests.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes forward collision warning, front and rear automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. SV and SR models add adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera is available with the Premium Package.

The mixed crash-test results and poor headlight rating are the main cautions here, so you should pay close attention to the exact trim and equipment on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• For 2024, the Sentra gets refreshed styling and mechanical changes aimed at improving fuel economy, while still delivering the value-focused, comfortable compact-sedan formula.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this value-oriented Sentra formula, the 2024 model is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s updated styling and improved efficiency make it the better all-around pick for most shoppers.
