Used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearVirginia Beach, VA

How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 12.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,528 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

It is a large three-row luxury SUV that was refreshed for the year with minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of its MBUX infotainment system. That combination makes it feel current without changing its core mission, and it is especially appealing if you want comfort, premium interior materials, and easy-to-use technology in a high-end cabin.

The trade-offs are real, though: the AMG Line Package impedes entry and exit, third-row seat access is a challenge, and the touch-sensing controls may not suit everyone.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLS is presented as a refined, desirable SUV that delivers the kind of everyday satisfaction expected from a Mercedes-Benz. Its expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is quiet, quick, and well calibrated, with a powertrain that feels smooth and lively in daily driving. The cost-effectiveness commentary adds that it is a vehicle that does a lot well rather than excelling at only one task.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about living with a complex luxury SUV, so you should pay close attention to how well the electronics, controls, and convenience features work.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on how the cabin materials, touch-sensitive controls, and third-row access feel in person, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the most affordable version, while the GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600 move you up the range. The GLS 450 emphasizes comfort and usability, while the higher series add more power and more upscale equipment.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, and the higher series use a twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid technology. The six-cylinder is described as smooth, silky, and strong enough for the vehicle’s mission.
• Safety package: Safety comes standard, and the SUV includes advanced driver-assistance systems that can be adjusted through MBUX. The suite includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, with improved graphics and helpful augmented reality navigation. The system is fast and intuitive, but the touch-sensitive controls can be distracting.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450: This is the most affordable and best-value choice if you want the GLS experience without paying for extra power you may not need. It delivers the smooth straight-six powertrain, strong comfort, and the core luxury and technology that define the model.
• GLS 580: This is the step-up choice if you want the V8 experience and more performance-oriented capability. It is also the trim explicitly tied to the Off-Road Package, which adds underbody protection, up to 1.2 inches of added ground clearance, and improved water fording capability.
• AMG GLS 63: This is the performance-focused choice in the lineup, aimed at buyers who want the most aggressive version of the GLS.
• Maybach GLS 600: This is the ultra-luxury choice if your priority is maximum prestige and the most upscale presentation.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,528 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $70,126, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $70,126 sits slightly below last year's $80,538.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The GLS’s strong equipment, luxury positioning, and broad appeal should still help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety comes standard, and the GLS includes a broad set of advanced driver-assistance systems that you can adjust through MBUX. The system includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist, and the expert evaluation says these features operate smoothly and transparently without causing driver aggravation.

One caveat is that the lane-centering assist briefly turned off in a specific low-speed road scenario during testing, so you should still stay engaged behind the wheel.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model adds minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of MBUX.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this large luxury SUV and you value the updated equipment and technology, the 2024 is the right target. If your main goal is to minimize purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2024’s softer pricing and strong inventory make it a compelling place to shop first.
