How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 12.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,528 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The GLS is a large three-row luxury SUV that was refreshed for the year with minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of its MBUX infotainment system. That makes it a strong fit if you want a refined, high-end family hauler with premium materials and easy-to-use technology.

The trade-offs are real: the AMG Line Package impedes entry and exit, third-row seat access is a challenge, and the touch-sensing controls may not suit everyone. Even so, the GLS is positioned as a broad-appeal luxury SUV that balances comfort, capability, and everyday usability.

36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLS is described as a vehicle that won’t fail to meet your expectations, and the expert evaluation emphasizes its quiet, quick, and well-calibrated driving character. The powertrain is presented as smooth and silky, with the mild-hybrid system adding instant torque off the line, which supports the impression of a well-sorted luxury SUV.

Mercedes also positions the GLS as a model with rewarding driving dynamics and impressive efficiency for its class. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic competence and more about whether you’re comfortable living with its size, complexity, and premium-sUV maintenance profile.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with advanced electronics and multiple comfort and driver-assistance systems. Pay close attention to how the cabin materials, touch controls, and third-row access feel in real use, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the most affordable version, while the GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600 move you up the range. The GLS 450 emphasizes comfort, premium materials, and easy-to-use technology, while the higher series add more power and more upscale equipment.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, and the higher model series use a twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid technology. The GLS 450 is described as smooth, silky, and quick enough for most buyers, with 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Safety comes standard, and the advanced driver-assistance systems can be adjusted through MBUX for sensitivity and alerts. The system includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist, with subtle and smooth operation.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. MBUX includes improved graphics, intuitive touchscreen operation, natural voice recognition, and augmented reality navigation, but the touch-sensitive controls can be distracting.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 21 mpg in combined driving, and the GLS 450 returned 19.9 mpg on the evaluation loop.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model adds minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and a new version of MBUX.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the GLS formula with strong safety, a high-end cabin, and a softer used-market price than last year, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply spending less, a nearby model year may still make sense, but you’ll give up some of the 2024 updates and market leverage.
