Used 2024 Kia Telluride for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2024 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 11.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,907 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Telluride earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, roomy interior, impressive tech features, comfortable seating, and strong design. The Telluride also fits well if you want a family-focused three-row SUV that feels stylish and well equipped without giving up everyday usability.

The main trade-offs are the lack of a hybrid option and some cheap interior materials, plus an irritating lane-keeping system. Even so, the overall package remains compelling for shoppers who want a well-rounded midsize SUV with broad appeal.

There are 38.4% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Telluride as smooth, comfortable, and impressive in day-to-day use, with a roomy cabin and features that feel easy to live with over time. The expert evaluation also points to a refined driving experience and strong overall dependability, with the SUV feeling quick, composed, and well sorted in regular use.

Kia’s long warranty coverage adds another layer of confidence for used buyers, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. The main long-term ownership risk is that fuel economy remains a weak point, so running costs may be higher than you’d like.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, even when the listing looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the tech and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige each add equipment, and the X-Line and X-Pro packages bring more rugged styling and capability. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps versus the higher trims.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD versions add a locking center differential, and X-Pro models increase towing capacity to 5,500 pounds.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes collision-avoidance tech, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear occupant protection, and Highway Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. Higher trims can add front parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, automatic rear braking, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0.
• Infotainment: Every Telluride gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, and over-the-air updates are tied to Kia Connect plans.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD versions should get 20 mpg in combined driving, and the expert evaluation notes that real-world fuel economy is not a strength.

Which 2024 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the essentials in a midsize three-row SUV without overpaying. It gives you the core Telluride experience and is the best-value starting point.
• S: This trim adds more equipment while staying below the upper trims, making it a sensible step up if you want a little more comfort and convenience.
• EX: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it balances features and price well, giving you a more upscale feel without jumping too far up the ladder.
• SX: Choose this if you want a more premium-feeling Telluride with more of the high-end tech and comfort features.
• SX Prestige: This is the most luxurious version, with the richest materials and the most upscale presentation, but it makes the most sense if you want near-premium treatment and are willing to pay for it.

Safety-package upgrades vary by trim, so check carefully for the driver-assistance features you want before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,907 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,749, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $34,749 sits slightly below last year's $39,401.

That price movement suggests the Telluride has become more accessible on the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, the key question is whether the model’s strong reputation and broad demand continue to support pricing after ownership. Because the Telluride remains popular with family buyers, well-kept examples should still attract attention.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2024 Telluride earns a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes collision-avoidance tech, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear occupant protection, and Highway Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. Higher trims can add front parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, automatic rear braking, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0.

One caveat is the lane-keeping system, which the expert review found too intrusive without Highway Driving Assist.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Telluride formula largely intact with minor updates and standard amber running lights.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,365, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $34,749 average.
• It adds minor styling changes and new X-Line and X-Pro trims.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $36,085, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $34,749 average.
• It remains stylish and capable for long-distance travel.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and the latest version of the Telluride formula, the 2024 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the smarter value path.
