How much does the 2024 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 4.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,690 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a stylish, comfortable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan that also offers strong value for the money. Turbocharging is standard, and all-wheel drive is available if you want extra traction.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: real-world fuel economy is a weak point, and the interior materials can feel cheap. The car’s performance in tougher new crash tests is also a concern.

With 36.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The K5’s overall package points to solid everyday dependability, with a comfortable cabin, standard turbocharged power, and a strong value proposition. Its expert evaluation also highlights a factory warranty plan that stands out in the segment.

The performance write-up notes that the turbo four delivers healthy low-end torque and that the transmission shifts quickly and decisively. The cost-effectiveness commentary also points to one of the best factory warranty plans available.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s fuel economy and crash-test concerns may affect satisfaction more than basic day-to-day durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as problem-free listings. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin condition, brake feel, tire wear, and any signs of hard use. If you’re comparing trims, pay close attention to which features are standard versus optional.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT. The GT-Line sits one step above the base LXS and one step below the more upscale EX, while the GT is the budget sports sedan choice. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic. The GT uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 290 horsepower, an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and front-wheel drive only. The standard turbo setup gives the car strong low-end torque, but passing power can fade at higher revs.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a safe exit warning system. Standard equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. Higher trims can add cyclist detection, parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The LXS has a standard 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless in the LXS and wired in the more expensive versions. The larger display adds navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect services, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line is rated at 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg combined with all-wheel drive. The GT is rated at 27 mpg.

Which 2024 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard turbocharged engine, the 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full Kia Drive Wise safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and the core tech and safety features.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the sporty look, the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, and standard heated seats for 2024. It also sits in the sweet spot between affordability and equipment.
• EX: This trim moves you into a more upscale feel, with the larger screen and available premium audio and comfort-oriented equipment. It suits you if you want a more polished daily driver.
• GT: This is the performance choice, with the 290-horsepower turbo engine, sport-tuned suspension, quicker steering, bigger brakes, and larger wheels. Choose it if you want the most engaging K5.

Higher trims can add cyclist detection, parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,690 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,580, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $24,580 sits slightly below last year's $25,867.

That price movement suggests the K5 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. A lower current entry price can also support demand from used-car shoppers looking for value.

If the model continues to be seen as a stylish, well-equipped sedan with strong value, that should help it hold attention in the used market. The downside is that fuel economy and crash-test concerns may limit how quickly prices recover.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 safe?

The 2024 Kia K5 earns Poor and Marginal ratings in updated IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests, respectively, while NHTSA gives the car high marks.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia Drive Wise is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a safe exit warning system. Standard safety equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Higher trims can add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, a navigation-based version with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is the weak performance in the tougher IIHS tests, which is a meaningful concern if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the stylish, comfortable, and technologically advanced formula while adding standard heated seats on the GT-Line.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $27,230, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,580 average.
• It brings updated styling, redesigned controls, and more standard tech.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong equipment and broad market availability. If you’re willing to pay more for fresher styling and updated tech, the 2025 is the better alternative.
