How much does the 2024 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 4.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,727 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

The 2024 Kia K5 is positioned as a stylish, comfortable, enjoyable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan, and it is also described as an excellent value for money. That makes it especially appealing if you want a family sedan that feels more distinctive than many rivals while still staying practical for everyday use.

The main trade-offs are its unimpressive real-world fuel economy and its concerning crash-test performance. It also has inexpensive-looking cabin materials in places, so you should expect value-focused execution rather than a luxury-grade interior.

The market shows 34.3% good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia K5 is presented as a well-equipped, value-oriented sedan with standard advanced safety features and an engine immobilizer system. Its expert evaluation also points to strong everyday comfort and a refined driving experience, which supports confidence in routine ownership.

The model’s standard turbocharged setup is described as delivering healthy low-rpm torque and decisive shifts, and the car is also praised for its quiet cabin. Kia’s factory warranty plan is highlighted as one of the better ones available, which adds peace of mind for used buyers.

If you plan to keep it long term, the biggest ownership risk is that fuel costs and safety concerns may weigh more heavily over time than the car’s value proposition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share does not guarantee the specific car you’re considering has a clean past. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the cabin, brakes, and any signs of hard use, especially if the car has larger wheels or sportier equipment. It also makes sense to confirm that the features you want are actually present, since equipment varies by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT-Line sits one step above the base LXS and one step below the more upscale EX, while the GT is the budget sports-sedan choice. The base trim is the most likely to miss some of the nicer comfort and convenience touches, so compare equipment carefully if you want a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, while the GT uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft. The GT-Line can be had with all-wheel drive, and the GT is front-wheel drive only.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a safe exit warning system. Standard equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Upgrades add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The LXS has an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless in the LXS and wired in the more expensive versions, and the larger screen adds navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect services, and a wireless phone charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line is rated at 31 mpg in combined driving with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg with all-wheel drive. The GT is rated at 27 mpg.

Which 2024 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core K5 experience at the lowest price. It makes the most sense if you want the sedan’s style, standard safety tech, and value without paying for extras.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the sporty look and sits in the sweet spot between price and equipment. For 2024, it also gets standard heated seats, and it can be paired with all-wheel drive if you want extra traction.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more comfort-oriented equipment than the GT-Line. It is the trim to consider if you care more about a richer daily driving experience than sporty styling.
• GT: This is the one to buy if you want the strongest performance. It brings the more powerful engine, sport-tuned suspension, quicker steering, bigger brakes, larger wheels, and Sport+ mode with launch control.

Kia Drive Wise is standard, but some of the more advanced safety features and driver-assistance upgrades are reserved for higher trims or optional equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings may not last long.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,727 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,886, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $24,886 sits slightly below last year's $26,120.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone.

Because the K5 is positioned as a value-focused sedan, well-kept examples should remain appealing to shoppers who want style and equipment without paying new-car prices. Strong demand for clean, well-optioned cars can help support resale performance over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 safe?

The 2024 Kia K5 earns Poor and Marginal ratings in updated IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests, respectively, while NHTSA gives the car high marks.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 K5 has Kia Drive Wise, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a safe exit warning system. Standard safety features also include automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system.

Higher trims or options can add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, navigation-based adaptive cruise control with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist. The main caveat is the weak IIHS performance in the updated crash tests, which is a meaningful concern for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers standard turbocharging, standard advanced safety features, and a strong value proposition.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $27,486, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,886 average.
• It brings updated styling, new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong equipment and broad inventory. If you care more about newer styling and updated tech, the 2025 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2024.
