You should prioritize a history report first, then confirm the car’s condition with a careful inspection. The current average of $18,792 sits slightly below last year's $18,945.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed fairly steady rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you as a future seller, that can mean more predictable pricing when it comes time to trade in or list the car. A stable price pattern also helps reduce the risk of a sudden drop in value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $17,970, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $18,792 average.
• The 2023 offers strong value without feeling stripped down.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing and a healthy used-car market, the 2024 is the cleaner primary choice. If your top priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the current year's average while still delivering strong value.
