How much does the 2024 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 7,749 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its great features, sleek design, value for money, spacious interior, and modern technology. That lines up with the Tucson’s broader mission as a well-rounded compact SUV that gives you a practical, stylish, and useful package rather than chasing one narrow specialty. The trade-offs are that the infotainment system can be frustrating and the powertrain is disappointing in some respects. Even so, it remains a strong fit if you want a modern small SUV with plenty of equipment and everyday usability.

With 40.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on value, features, and a cabin that feels modern and useful over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Tucson is a well-rounded SUV with a comfortable ride, helpful technology, and a strong warranty-backed ownership proposition. Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty adds another layer of confidence for long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Tucson’s less impressive powertrain and infotainment quirks may matter more as the vehicle ages and you live with it every day.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin electronics, infotainment operation, and how the powertrain feels under acceleration. You should also pay attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the features you want are actually present on the vehicle you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails, while the SEL Convenience Package adds 19-inch alloy wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a fully digital instrument panel, and a larger touchscreen with navigation. The XRT adds unique black 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, and the SEL Convenience Package features as standard equipment. The Limited adds a dark chrome grille, upgraded headlights, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, and memory settings for the driver’s seat.
• Powertrain: The Tucson uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It is the only non-hybrid powertrain offered, and the expert evaluation notes that it can feel underwhelming when you need stronger passing power.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Smart Park remote-parking, and a blind-spot camera system.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. SEL Convenience Package, XRT, and Limited trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a fully digital instrument panel, but wireless smartphone connectivity is lost on those versions.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. The all-wheel-drive model returns 23 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, HD radio, power windows, roof rails, and 17-inch alloy wheels. If you want the lowest-cost way into the Tucson without giving up the core tech and safety experience, this is the trim to start with.
• SEL: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more everyday convenience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two more USB ports. If you want a more polished daily driver, this is the trim that most clearly balances equipment and price.
• XRT: This trim is for you if you want the Tucson’s more rugged-looking appearance and the convenience-package equipment as standard. It adds unique black 19-inch wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a fully digital instrument panel, and the larger touchscreen with navigation.
• Limited: This is the most luxurious and fully equipped choice. It adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose stereo, memory settings for the driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, Smart Park, and a blind-spot camera system.

The Limited also brings the most advanced parking and visibility features, while the lower trims keep the simpler wireless infotainment setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?

It looks like a buyer-friendly market right now.

• Deal availability: 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,749 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,539, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $23,578 sits slightly below last year's $23,637.

That small decline suggests the Tucson has held its value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply up or down. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern usually points to a market that remains predictable and easier to time. It also means you’re less likely to face a dramatic drop in value if you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson safe?

The 2024 Tucson earns Good ratings in most phases of IIHS crash testing, and it has earned five-star ratings in a frontal crash test and four-star ratings in a rollover test from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited trim adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Smart Park remote-parking, and a blind-spot camera system. The standard headlights are rated Acceptable by IIHS, which is worth keeping in mind if you do a lot of night driving.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Tucson is a well-rounded compact SUV with a comfortable cabin, strong safety features, and a good-value overall package.

The bottom line: If you want the most balanced version of this Tucson formula, the 2024 model is the one to target. It gives you the modern styling, strong safety equipment, and broad usefulness that define the nameplate, while current pricing and deal availability make it a sensible used buy. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years, but the 2024 remains the cleanest choice for shoppers who want a well-equipped compact SUV without overpaying.
