Why it stands out
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 stands out as an electric crossover that blends distinctive styling with everyday usability. Owners praise its spacious interior and impressive cargo space, and the car’s fast charging helps make it feel especially practical for a modern EV. It also earns points for its smooth ride and strong acceleration, giving it a relaxed but still responsive character on the road.
What makes the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 appealing is that it delivers a lot of the qualities shoppers want from an electric vehicle without feeling stripped down. The available luxury touches on higher trims add extra comfort, while the overall package benefits from Hyundai’s strong warranty reputation. At the same time, some drivers may find the suspension a bit floaty, so it may not be the best choice for buyers who want a firmer, more tightly controlled ride.

2024 Ioniq 5 SEL is the sweet spot for this EV right now, I believe. Good price, great value compared to cost new 2 years or so ago. Good features even though not as luxurious as the Limited trim version. Fine EV!

Happy to be back in an EV after a bit of a hiatus. Happy I won’t need to go to the gas station. The car is spacious. Love the head room, rear seat room and cargo space. Love the paddle shifters to dial in the regen level. The acceleration is great and the ride so smooth. The suspension is a bit floaty and I’d prefer it tighter.

Compared to a TeslaY or 3 model this EV is built better, more intuitive, safer to drive and better looking. The value is there in the build quality. Its not missing anything really. Its roomy, comfortable to drive, super quiet, and handsome

Plenty of room front and rear with lots of cargo space, this is a great family car. The style may be a little out there for some. The fast charge is great, range is good across all models, and Hyundai offers a great warranty!

Is the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 5/5, which points to very strong satisfaction with the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5. The recurring positives are its spacious interior, impressive cargo space, fast charging, smooth ride, and strong acceleration. That lines up well if you want an electric crossover that feels practical for daily use without giving up comfort or responsiveness. With 33.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from.
Is the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also emphasizes a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the great warranty and the kind of practical strengths that help you count on it day to day. The repeated mention of fast charging and smooth operation suggests a vehicle that fits well into regular use without much fuss. For used buyers, that generally lowers long-term ownership risk, though you should still verify condition and maintenance history before you commit.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm there are no hidden accident or title issues. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, tires, brakes, and suspension, since those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience. Pay close attention to overall condition and how the car drives, especially if you want to avoid examples that feel less settled on the road.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5?
This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.
- Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,267 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.21% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,882, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5's resale value?
The current average of $27,454 sits slightly below last year's $30,919.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction and practical appeal should help support demand among future used shoppers. If you keep mileage and condition in check, you should be in a better position to preserve value over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.21% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2025 if:
- It adds a new adventure-ready trim and keeps the formula largely intact.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary target if you want a strong mix of value, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2024 makes sense because the market has softened and there are plenty of listings to compare. If you want the newest version with a small feature update, the 2025 is worth a look, but it is more of a refinement than a major leap.
