Is the 2024 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Odyssey’s reliability case is supported by its strong safety reputation and its focus on practical, proven family use. Honda’s formula centers on comfort, convenience, and straightforward driving manners, which can be reassuring if you want a minivan that prioritizes consistency over flash. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for a vehicle that is popular and well-equipped, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Odyssey?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the vehicle closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or neglected maintenance. Focus on the condition of the sliding seats, rear-seat convenience features, and any technology you plan to use regularly, since those are part of the Odyssey’s appeal. A careful pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to make sure the minivan’s family-friendly equipment is working as intended.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Odyssey?

It looks like a buyer’s market if you’re shopping the 2024 Odyssey now, with meaningful inventory and a noticeable price pullback.

• Deal availability: 43.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,087 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,472, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $35,472 sits slightly below last year's $38,583.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also temper near-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the Odyssey’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. Strong demand for well-kept family minivans can help support pricing, but the current trend shows you should not expect appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 43.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $35,840, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $35,472 average.
• It adds updated tech and a new rear-seat entertainment system.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better value if you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and buyer appeal. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2024 makes more sense; if you want the newer tech updates and don’t mind paying more, the 2025 is the alternative to compare.
